This is my cannon for shooting large oranges, the barrel is Ø80mm. The cannon is made from stainless steel exept the end which is aluminium for reducing wheight. . The cannon runs on special gas (70% butane 30%propane). Sorry my english isn't super, I'm from Denmark.

NEW. Tjeck out the awesome shot with the launcher at a laptop computer and a coffeemaker. It is very diffecult to see the orange at that speed, ha ha..

That's one awsome gun. Does the ring in the middle of the barrel have any function besides ending the basket wires?

1. I'm guessing alot.
2. No

If you can't figure out how it works you shouldnt be building it.

nice gun, big bore rules!!
The special gas, is it Gasol? I've experimented with that but couldn't find the right mixture...Have you tried to shot something other than oranges?

well, I live in Uppland, a bit above you and today we have -22C :o

the ring is mostly for the mean look, but i also protects the laser and the cables for it...

The cost is pretty difficult to say, because a lot of the materials I already had, but my guess is somewhere in the area of 1000-1500 us dollars + 300 work hours. Stainless steel is very expensive.

The gas is pretty normal bottlegas in denmark used for small wellding equipment and camping. We havn't got 100% ´propane like in the US. The mixture I use is around 3,6 %. The cannon is used with any kind of fruit that fits the barrel, large onions, appels... snow is also fun this time of year.... your friends quickly learn not to shoot snow at you, because I will shoot back:-)

That is one of the best looking launchers I have ever seen, excellent job. How much time do you think it took you to fabricate and machine all of the parts for it?

Total fabrication time is around 300 hours over a period of 3-4 month

Oh my, I forgot to say GREAT F***ING JOB!!!

I gotta admit, that thing looks sexy. My metal combustion pales in comparison to yours. This would put mine to shame.

What do you use as an electrode? I'm thinking along the lines of a sparkplug. For my combustion, I lathed a hole through a bolt and glued a wire into it.

SWEET ASS GUN!!!
Only thing that could make this cannon better is some clear stainless steel (to bad it doesnt exist). Im going to have to second Dracs "sexy" dub of your cannon. Everything is perfect! Speechless...

I used a complete igniter set from a weber gasgrill.
