Ahh. The famous Idaho potato gun. Built of my own design, although the basic ideas it employs are not mine, it has served me well and been the most successful of all my cannons. It has evolved over the years into what it is today and is still having the newest technology installed and new developments investigated to be added in the future.

It's features include (in order of first installed to last):

Detachable barrel configuration, allowing for maximum variability and convenience.

Chamber fan running off of 8 AA batteries. One of my most loved additions this is used to mix the fuel and air inside the chamber and allow for maximum combustion.

Pistol grip. This is also of my own design, built at the same time I installed the fan, it holds a compartment at the bottom to carry the batteries which run the fan. Not only does it conveniently hold the batteries but also gives a more realistic handling and igniter placement.

Onboard propane system. This is absolutely my most favorite thing so far, and probably most expensive attachment in and of itself. This system regulates the amount of propane needed in each shot, taking a lot of the guessing out of fuel amount. But this wasn't just thrown together, thought and planning went into this.

That's all I have done to tweak the Idaho chamber. Here are basic plans below on it's construction, minus the propane system. Two barrels are also included in the design below.

The basic chamber design of Idaho is just a modified basic launcher. The only difference is the multiple barrel design.

Of course it becomes an "expert" launcher when you add the fan, propane or other high end accessories.

Did you build the stand to hold the gun because of the weight (it looks heavy) or just for easier shooting?
