Built this thing about a week ago out of ABS. 3'' chamber with a 1.5" barrel. Shoots pretty good and sounds like a friggin bomb going off. Me and my roommate named it Ron Burgundy. Enjoy!

Well I congratulate you for taking the well worn path into spuddom. This is a nice cannon to start on. I hope you continue building them :P

What did you use around the ignitor? Looks nasty.

Thanks guys. I already have plans for my next one. Gonna use steel from my buddys shop and make it real nasty looking.

Around the igniter thats ABS cement. I was worried about the pressure blowing the igniter out, so i layered the cement on a few times. Looks like sh*t, but im gonna paint it soon anyway.

Ah, I guess I just haven't seen it that color before.

You think steel pipe would work? Or would that just spark the sh*t outta my hand?

You can get it to work, you just need to insulate the electrodes so they're not incontact with the metal. You should use the metal to make a pneumatic instead, as it can take higher pressures then PVC.

I need to buy a compressor and valves and fittings, etc though. Whereas i could go and buy some ABS for like 30 bucks and blast spuds with fire and explosions and all that good stuff. But i will make a pneumatic soon enough.

Well its your decision, just saying that you can take metal to 600psi safely depending on its rating and get alot more power compared to 40psi from a hair spray combustion.

Doesnt the regular combustion go p to about 8o psi though?

Hair Spray combustion no, propane metered combustion(if made correctly) yes.
