Wow, thanks for all that info.

Basically, I want a quality BB gun that will last. It has to have plenty of power so I can drill holes in cans way down range. I want the gun with the best accuracy and I want something comfortable and ergonomic to shoot.

The crosman pumpmaster 760 has worked fine for me for 3 years. It's very accurate, durable, and shoots pellets or BBs. The pumping is easy and reloading is just pulling a bolt back and then pushing it forward. Th eonly problem is that it's hard to make a silencer for because the barrel is really thick steel and I can't drill holes in it. I accidentaly shot out 4 of my neighbors windows with it so now I can't shoot it any more, which is why there is a need for a silencer. It isnt that loud but it gives off a sharp crack, like a .22, except a bit quieter.

No they dont. My 760 sucks. To get a really good gun also look into a bengiman model397pa. It is a really nice quite powerful gun. I think it shoots at 800 fps and takes out birds really eaisly.

I'm pretty sure I have a 760 as well. I think everybody had one of those at some point or another!

I just could not get over how awesome the Beeman felt when I was holding it. It's a heavy fcker but really comfortable. That thing is build like a tank.

The Gamo looks nicer but doesn't feel as hefty or comfortable.

Eventually, I'll probably go with a Beeman.

Judging by the design, I think daisy might own crossman, so it's probably the same barrel. The powerplant is a bit weaker than the 880 (I checked what I acctualy had), but still sufficient for most things.

I've found a nice pellet-gun ballistics software package, chairgun2.
Such indicates that (with one specific wadcutter pellet) 500fps in .177 will penetrate both sides of a steel can out to 35 yards or so, if I remember my penetration numbers right.
The 750 fps models will do this out to 65
The 1000 fps models will do this out to 85 yards.

More importantly, the 500 fps pellet drops almost 15' at 100 yards, whereas the 750 fps one drops about 6.6' and the 1000 fps one drops 4.6'.
A .22 cal pellet helps at this range, as a 700 fps .22 pellet drops maybe 5.5'
(note: those are FEET of drop!)
