i.e. "you know that I'm not very analytical, that I don't spend much time thinking about myself and why I do things".

I agree with Pimp. Don't be sheep, look at things from an objective veiwpoint and don't beleive all that the media throws out.
btw, I am in no way voicing my approval of all that Bush has done, but most people blow things out of perspective and place blame on people who are not even related to the cause. Point in case: "God damn it."

see, how people react to that phrase agravates me. if you look back through history you see reference of god "damning" things/people, so saying "god damnit" is not using gods name in a negative way, it is simply implying that you want god to "damn" that particular thing.

besides, i prefer "DAMN YOU TO THE PITS OF LUCIFER!"

I believe that the meaning of the phrase has changed from: "I don't like this situation/you, so 'Please, God. Damn the situation/you.'" to: "I don't like what happened and it has to be someone's fault. As it is never my fault, 'God be damned.'" This seems far-fetched, but that is the phrase has turned into. Really, there have been various studies on it. (funded by non-religious groups)
Just chalk it up to the changing world around us: The current generation has a lack of work-ethic, expectations of immediate gratification, increased ego-centricism, and diminished understanding of the world around them.
Do not take this personally, it is a fairly accurate generalization / summation of the Gen Y and Z. Remember that generalizations are what is typical of a cross-section and does not mean that everyone here under 30 fits into that description.

actually, none of the above apply to me (much), however, if you had said something about not valuing religion, you would have directly adressed me

not to turn this into a religoius debate, but im not a religious person and have never read the bible. however, i do not have a problem with anyones religion, just so long as they dont try and make me accept it, and it doesnt interfere with my life.

On a tangent related to the whole Goddamn debate, The word "Drats" has nothing to do with rats. It is actually a shortened version of the phrase "Od Rats" which was a euphemish or "God Rot", used similarly to Goddamn. I'd guess that goddamn can be used both ways. As in the phrase "Goddamn it" which is requesing God to inflict damnation on the thing, or like God rot, which basically says [expletive] God...

eh, thats wjat I hate about the kids at my school, they just repeate whatever their parents political veiw is mindlessly...

Here in France we had 20 years of socialism; and even two mandates of J.Chirac hasn't turned all the problems into solutions.
I can't imagine how long it will take to make america a great great country like it was. The environment crisis is more a world-wide problem than a one land issue. America isn't the only country that polutes.
It's a very good thing that a lot more people take consciousness of the status of the environment.
G.W.Bush is to me, a kid. It's like he doesn't measure the responsabilities his post compells him to have.
