um yea, thats a good idea for a cheap glue gun, but a good gun should head up in about 2 minutes.

Wouldn't the tip cool down after a minute?

no its trying to heat up to it's its operating tempeture it maintains the tempeture from there,

glue guns start to go bad once the heating coil starts wearing out so if it takes 2ominutes like my gun its probebly just old

ohh, i never thought of that. ive always just held it with "the bad pair of pliers" and melted the glue with a blow torch. im accually to impatiant to wait for, well, really anything other than people.

it works well because the glue doesnt stick to the pliers.

Another handy use of a glue gun is to flare rubber (nylon, tygon ...) hose. Really easy to flair an undersized ID piece of hose enough to get it onto an oversized fitting.

edit: "nylon" not "neon"
