This is my new 67 chevy pickup. I got it for free about a month ago. I have completely torn it to the bare frame and rebuilt it since the pictures. However you can see the new 327 smallblock chevy engine that I have built from the bare block. Next on the list is a paintjob. I just spent about 2k on it for all new chrome bumpers and trim and suspention parts.

So, Wach ya al think?

Beautiful job, man! Assembling an engine like that is a labor of love. Any idea on the HP/torque figures?

Get some pics up with the chrome and stuff, I'd love to see them.

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

Awesome job. I wish i had an engine worth rebuilding. Those figures sound about right to me.

Again, very good job.

Those are pretty respectable figures for an engine of that type and design. I hope you get the chance to stick it on a dyno.

I'm quite a gearhead but my department is more import cars / tuning / the drifting scene. I love a well-done truck, too, though.

I drive a '99 Lexus ES300 with a Supra 2JZ swap. In fact, I was just getting out my tools to install my new Brembo slotted rotors :D

Again, very cool project, can't wait to see the pics with the chrome on.

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

I just finished putting the heads back on my truck today about 7PM. My truck is a 86 Nissan Hardbody with the V6. (rice burner)

I replaced all 12 lifters about 2 weeks ago and one of them was defective. The bad lifter proceeded to hammer the crap out of my cam and shave the lifter pad like a grinding stone. They are the hydraulic type and it wouldn't hold a prime after the oil had warmed up.

Me and my brother rebuilt a SBC 350 to swap into a Chevy S-10. That project ran out of steam, so we sold the S-10 and the 350. The guy that bought it stuck it in a 63 Impala. It was heart breaking to sale it but it was a fun project while it lasted.

Did you get the truck with just the short block? Looks like you have a Edelbrock dress up kit? Any performance parts inside? It looks great so far and I hope you keep us updated on it's progress... The best part of these projects is watching them take shape and turn into bad ass hot rods.

Well, first of all thank you for your interest. :D

@petezaria, Im not really into the rice rocket scene, mainly because I can get so much more power out of eight cylenders than just four or six.
9I also couldent afford a new car to just tare into.)

I will try and get it on a tire dyno after the engine is broken in.

As for performance parts, the only really radical thing I put into it was a set of roller lifters and an edelbrock THUMPER cam for a really lopey sound. It has an edelbrock performer intake, stock heads, new eagle crank and rods/pistons, speedco valve covers, edelbrock 650cfm endurashine carb, hei distributer, and edelbrock chrome round air filter- is that it?

Im thinking about dropping a 350 in my 86 s15 jimmy, along with the rear end from a similar year camaro, as well as jcaking it up 'bout 5" (3" suspension, 2" body) then throwin some 30" boggers on there.

Nice job. 8) Any way you could give us some more "specs", like the rear end you've got on it and the tranny?

Are you gonna be driving this back and forth to school, though? Not that you shouldn't, but I'd want to keep the miles as low as possible on a truck I just rebuilt, (unless I didn't rebuild it for performance, just something to do).

Sure kicks the ass outta my Ranger that's in the shop, though. Although, I don't know about my dad's truck I'm driving right now, (5.3L v8 /w 4.somesuch rear end & 4-spd. Gas burner but hauls.)
