Consider an electric exhaust cutout instead of modified headers/bigger pipe/muffler/etc.... PCGuy actually told me about these and now I'm planning on putting one on my car.

Basically it's a T you put in your exhaust system after the headers, but before the cat and muffler. The open port on the T has a butterfly valve on it, electronically actuated by a servo and a switch on your dash.
Leave it closed most of the time. In the closed mode, your exhaust system is essentially unchanged; same sound, same power and throttle response etc... With the vale open, you're basically running open headers: loud as all hell, great throttle response (very little back pressure), etc...

Most states just do electronic/"sniffer" exhaust inspection, no actual visual inspection, so as long as you keep the cutout valve closed at your emissions test, no red flags should be raised. Be careful where you do open it - even with a 4-banger, it will break the noise laws pretty quickly.

I have a Lexus ES300 with a Supra 2JZ non-turbo swap. 4 speed auto.

13.1 quarter mile on cold tires - haven't gotten to run a quarter on slicks (with a proper burnout) since my last round of modifications. I think with slicks and a good run I'll run around 12.9. Anyone on this forum have me beat? :D

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

that is a really good idea!

i have a 1990 camry (which is the same as lexus ES250) and this would suit verry well :D

i was considering putting a rc muffler on it but they are about 700$
its basically a motor that moves baffles around inside the muffler depending on input from a remote and subsiquently from your desired noise level.

ill have to ask if my mate could do this for me :D :D
