Recenty, my Xbox360 broke for the third time. I then decided just to buy an Elite system, I purchased it today :D . So, does anybody know of any useful parts to get out of my old 360 ,besides the fan?

Don't trash it, just send it in to Microsoft. What did you get, the three red rings? You can get some more use out of it by doing the towel trick (look it up on YouTube).

Read my edit, sorry.

P.S.
I voided the warranty on my old one, so I sent it to some guys in New York for like $60 each time it broke, until now.

if it has a sort of powerful laser diode/led for scanning the disks, you can make a heat laser and pop balloons lol... just search it on youtube...

im not quite sure if it has one either, lol. im just assuming...since a dvd burner/player has one...why not an xbox?

Umm...because an Xbox can't burn DVDs?

no, but since it runs games, it might use the same diode a dvd burner uses...because to do either, a more powerful led is needed....

don't be so critical..

Why would one want to burn DVDs when one could spend such time playing Gears of War  ?

According to this, you can't use a reader's laser:

But hey, I guess we all could be wrong...I'll be off playing GoW while you fiddle with it :D

Sounds more like the CD was grinding against something in there, burning diodes don't go "errrrrrrrrrrrr".

Back on topic, what rp181 suggested was all good stuff. Also see if you can salvage any switches and heatsinks.
