the person wont get of the ground..

the legs (knees) will colapse and bend. try to lay a two by four on a rock and stand on one end and get a FAT guy to jump on the other side.. you can't remain upright.
They'll get off the ground if the ram and the floor section on top of it travels all the way up to the ceiling.

Well yeah, but what's the point of a non-lethal booby trap?

I'm actually thinking about building one of these on a smaller scale, I'm thinking two small air rams with a 1/4" QEV dumping air into them so that I can launch "small things".

That is almost like my Pnuematic Shank, just in a much larger scale!

Atlantis id thought about that, but it seem sall in the industry are made like that design, and yes it fires with 1 leg on it, the idea being that the flipper is long enough to not send a quick jolt but a long movement.

yes im on a tightish budget at the moment so cant spend too much

also whats GGDT???

whats a solenoid valve???

for the people that think this wont work, it does, iv esed them before, they are very fun and they dont break your legs, when first leaning, sometimes if you bend your knee to much you get hit in the arse and it hurts for a while.

im doing this from a begginers point of view, iv never used air pressure or made something like this so im still researching what exactly everything i need is =P thanks guys, the help is greatly appreciated

One simple thing for this.

Airbags! From a minitruck simple,cheap($50) and available at alot of places get a sleave type for more travel which are the kind used in large freight trucks.Quick opening valve and some air from a supply tank and there you have it.

This is there intended use, variable suspension ride height.

Ive never seen those airbags before, what sort of places can you get them.

Ice done some more playing with ggdt, and I think 2 chambers around the same size as 2 liter bottles at 115 psi, with two rams being 22mm and 6.5" of travel, this should give me 4 ft per second which may be enough or it may not, if it isn't I will add two more rams which will bring it up to 6 ft per second, or try to get a larger diameter ram, which will increase it by alot.
