Nope, not at all, just dont breathe deeply or anything stupid like that.
I think the sparkerler idea is O.K., but I would personally buy "REAL" fuse as I suggested. MUCH less of a hassle.

so would i but you see that stuff has to be shipped, so if he needs a quick fix thats the GO!

Any Australians know where i can get the Stump Remover?
I was looking for it today, and came across something pretty cool. You can buy Sulfur from the gardening section!

Why not just use an unmodified sparkler with the bottom of the wire clipped off?

About tyro's shipping post: Cannonfuse.com ships VERY fast, only about 2 days for it to travel nearly accross the entire states. You dont need special shipping or anything like that. However, they only ship to the US, so if you don't live there, that is too bad.........

Ok, but I'm sure you could find a Canadian supplier. However, it may not have prices as good. Of course, Canadian money is worth less than usd, so I have no idea. Cannonfuse seems to have the best USD prices I have seen. But, you don't live here so that just doesn't work.

But, I wouldn't take apart the sparklers, just take off the handle and stick em in the smoke compound.

Ok i have a few questions:

1) Should i use just the fine powders or melt the sugar and add the potasium Nitrate?

2)Has any 1 tried the coloured smoke bombs on page 2 and if so where would i get the materials?

3)if you have tried them are they toxic to inhale
:?:

thats not a bad idea with the sparkler and cut the end off :D

I would use just the fine powders, because of how easy it is make and because you won't have to worry about putting a fuse in the compound while it is still moldable. (Trying to fuse a rock-hard compound sucks, especially with a fuse that tends to break open and spill when bent; or in the case of a sparkler, one that has chunks come off when bent. Also, especially when a cap goes over the fuse, it tends to crush it against the compound, resulting in powder spillage and thus an unrealiable fuse.)

I would use just the powders because you can insert you fuse into it a ways for maximum igniting potential, and you can simply glue it into place and seal with hot glue. Also, when you want it to burn faster, putting more nitrate in is *MUCH* easier.

EDIT: Make sure you tamp the compound down some, because a very loose compound burns superfast, and could result in explosion depending on the nozzle and type of casing.

Edit: They look ok, I don't think they are toxic, just dont try any of the ones that have metal powders in them, they are more complicated and will have a tendency to go BOOOM! So don't try them. (I wouldn't!)
THe red one, ehhhhh, it looks questionable. Do some research on the red dye ingredient to see what it is. (para-nitroaniline red)

EDIT: Of course, you should never purposefully breathe any smoke, but none of those compounds look like they would gas you like mustard gas or anything, but I still think the red one looks questionable. (If you are worried, look up the long names!)

my favorite igniter/ smoke bomg is as follows. mix up some black powder paste with balck powder and water, keeping the consistinsey rather thick and paste like. get a relitively small light bulb and break the glass by gently tapping with a small hammer. take a glob of the black powder paste and stick it on the light bulb filament. and smear a piece of rolling paper with black powder goo. roll the rolling paper with the black powder paste over the filament and BP paste being very careful not to break the filament. make a smoke bomb using sch 80 pvc as pc guy's video shows(that video rocks) :D BEFORE assembling with powder drill a hole in one of the endcaps so that the whole lightbilb ignition system can fit in. fill with powder and solavetn weld in. then epoxy the ignition system very sturdily. hook this bad boy up to a battery and a switch or if you have some skill, make a timer out of a clock. this is the best! :D

I am not aussie, but I think that you can go the DR website and find an aussie dealer. Google DR stumpgrinder to find their website, then find an aussie dealer from there.
