Our first round was a disaster. We lost the lifting jig bar looking thing to friction on the field, and had to jettison it. Or, I had to jettison it, that is. More coming later.

Second round for our team; ROUSING SUCCESS!! We lost the jig again, but DAMN did our driver make up for it! We are now 4th overall. More soon.

Lunch time. We are firmly planted in 3rd place and we have made a few discrete modifications to the jig so it won't catch on the field. We are expecting a much higher score next round.

I just had another turn. It was a pretty dang good run, scored pretty good. But, I could have done better. Not sure of the standings ATM.

Sorry I didn't post on this for a few days...... We lost. We got knocked out in the semi-finals, all three runs were horrible. The entire team took it pretty hard. The last spotter actually cried for the first time in years. For our team, the year is over. In retrospect, our heavily engineered design wasn't even the best operating principle, even though it was the best built one. Quality doesn't matter if it can't do the job better. Also, the claw holding the jig on was a fatal design flaw. It used a motor to control it, and the control axis it was on was a regular controller stick, but without a spring return. If we werent watching the motor like a hawk, it would open. We should have used a design that could run off of a servo instead.

I will, later. I got shells to load (using the CA3 as a demo for special effects tomorrow) and planes to shoot down in Aces High II. *Grabs Saitek ST290 Pro*

I am part of FIRST robotics which is a different robotics competition. This year we did a bit poorly but we made up for it recently in a smaller competition after some major revisions.

Where is this competition run out of?

This particular competition is run out of Austin, Texas. It is a local BEST hub, which operates under Texas BEST.
