Ragnarok wrote:He's like Julius Caesar. Only refers to himself in third person in his writing.
I think Caesar did it so he could write things like "Julius Caesar is an awesome dude" without it being quite so obvious that he was blowing his own trumpet.
This was your daily completely irrelevant fact dredged up from the depths of Ragnarok's brain.

Now, this guy I shall have to watch.
I'm not personally likely to become a customer of Spudtech (being both in the UK, and very fond of doing my projects entirely from scratch), but ignoring the return of a big name like that in a hobby with such a small "serious" core would be stupid of me.

One slight concern has come to mind just this instant - I know the old ST forum got a number of "Where's my order" posts. Given that SF is now the forum linked to from ST, how long is it before we get the same?
Not that I'm necessarily suggesting that ST will run up quite the same order backlog this time around, but I'm pretty sure we'll get someone impatient enough to make such a post eventually.
Well, back then, PCGUY ran the forums on Spudtech doing it's bidding.

This time around, this is PCGUY's private site. Not to mention, BCARMS is the official and only sponsor of SpudFiles at the moment, and allowing customer service discussion for Spudtech would be kind of counter-intuitive.

PLUS, most of those "Where's my order" posts will most probably go to Jeremy's email.

Welcome, Jeremy.

Welcome! I remember when I first found this hobby two years ago, I was on spudtech. Never even heard of spudfiles. Of course, I never did build a cannon until the CA1, but I did get in introduction into the spudding world. I left when I found combustions were illegal in Texas, but then I came here, and built the first of my pneumatics.

If Spudtech customers post "where's my order" messages here please be firm and let them know Spudfiles is not Spudtech customer service.
I try to keep my customers informed about delays in the orders and reply to email on a daily basis. I will do my best to keep up with orders.
But as I have found, running Spudtech is like laying track for a moving train. It feels like you are trying to make a difference but you know all you can really do is try to keep in front and stay alive and slowly change direction.
It more than a 1 person job but not quite ready for two. Right now my family and friends are helping out from time to time. I do the building and they help any way they can.

And no, I don't always talk in the third person. In fact that post was one on the only times in my life that I had done it. The last time was probably a required paper in school or something. Please don't compare me to anyone famous. I like anyone else. I'm trying to support my family and enjoy what's left of life after wasting the first half behind a desk. I have enjoyed spud guns since I was a kid. I'm still a kid but trapped in an aging body.

Like many others here I found the community through Spudtech and SpudFiles.

I'm not on Spudfiles looking for customers. I just want to be a contributing part of the spud gun community.

I would not mind sponsoring spudfiles but I respect BCARMS as the official sponsor.

The larger the foot print the community has the better chance spud guns have at surviving the approaching "Bubble Wrap" world.

Thanks for the welcomes. :)

That's excellent to hear Jeremy. The more wealth of knowledge available the merrier. I also see your website has been undergoing some changes gradually over the past few weeks. Good luck with that!

Cheers! 8) [/quote]
