yeah, scandi desing is pretty unique
i was thinking of making my own version of the speznaz machete, or a skramaseax, but well see what i come up with

The spetsnaz is very useful I think, but ugly as hell.
A skramaseax looks very good.
I was in a (gaulish, gallic?) village in France, and I spotted a nice blade found in one of the graves. I took a picture of it:
I believe it's called a falcata...

Very impresssive, have you ever considered making a blade out of high carbon steel? Or some sort of khukri?

Speaking of a khukri...there's a video on youtube about making khukris in Nepal.. it's really impressive.

sandman: high carbon steel? my knifes are normally made from 1.3% carbonsteel, that is high carbon steel
EDIT: jsr, if you want tosee flying sparks, mayby i can do that for you, it needs just little bit of "magic powder"

Is it "magic powder" you would have to inhale to give you the "oomph" to do it, or something you would sprinkle on the blade

nah its just borax, used for forge welding. when you sprinkle it to the blade and heat more, and when you start hammering it the hot borax will fly and look like sparkles
