Or you could try Blender. I've never used it, though I've heard it's good. The mac version is at the bottom of the download page.

I have tried both but there not really what i am looking for.
I probably should have been more specific but I'm looking for a program to do basic sketch-ups of objects.
Google Sketchup seems to me more landscape oriented and Blender is more of an animation program.
Maybe i haven't really utilized them properly yet so i will keep trying.
Thanks for the ideas anyway.
Anyone else currently using good programs for their spudgun designs?

Any software you use will have a learning period.
If you learn to use Sketchup, here is what is available for spugun use.

Just think how time is saved if you don't have to create all the components your self.
By using my library, you can create launchers relatively easy.
These posting show some designs with purchased software.

Sketchup is very good for well... skechting things up in 3D.
If skilled, you can make very nice models with it, but after sketching an idea or concept, I usually take it up to Pro Engineer, modeling it in the exact dimensions.

blender is great for just renderings too, I used it for a railgun animation, renderings of certain parts, etc...
Confusing, but use the blender wikibook.
