Stencils anyone?

Anybody interested in some stenciled art for their cannon maybe? Ive found it a really fun little hobby and if anyones interested I could make a custom one for you and your cannon!

well i change it to solid color in GIMP. then print on file folders then cut with an exacto knife or razor blade

I do mine on x-ray film, reusable. Get it from Ebay. Good work!!!

It should be re-worded to a positive note..
My pistol now meets OSHA noise exposure limits.
It should not be against the law to meet OSHA requirements in recreational sports.

There has got to be a better way to cut these stencils than with an x-acto knife. Took me an hour to carve a "WMD - Weapon of Mashed Destruction" stencil. Good find with those pictures though. I definitely want some companion cube love.

seriously? What material are you cutting out? it took my about an hour with just a razor blade for the calvin and hobbes one and thats the most intricate. I bought an exacto because pushing the flat of the blade actually started building up a callus and it makes things a lot easier

That machine only cut preset designs that are supplied with the machine. It has dies's or cards that you insert into it, according to the infomercerial I seen.

I don't think so, I believe Clide used a cricket to cut out the layers of card for his cardapult, and even included the file for it.

You can buy a "plotter" that is similar to the cricket. Plotters are what sign making shops use. They do use a computer program to operate.

For me I used something called Sign Strip. It paints or sprays on. When dry it can be carved like masking tape and bits peeled up. Paint with spray paint and then peel off the masking.
It is how I put the Dragon art on the big PVC cannon, the smiling sun on the 1 inch barrel for the Marshmallow cannon, and the 2 tone lettering on the Mouse Musket.
It cuts very easy with a razor knife. Many items you buy have it ready for you to peel off protecting things like display screens on MP3 players, stereos, clocks, etc. You would recognize it as the blue peel off coating. It is sprayed on.

The Cricut only cuts from special cartridges so you can't do your own design. There are other cutters made for the same market such as the Quickutz Silhouette (what I have) and the Craft Robo that you can connect to the computer and cut your own designs. I managed to snag my machine for $100 and it was completely worth it.
