Very nice video Joerg! I'm sure PCGUY will make a separate forum and showcase for slingshots.

Perhaps not slingshots, but I still vote for an 'unconventional forum' for things such as springers, slingshots, ETGs, ETCs, coilguns, railguns, vacuum cannons etc.

Very gud :P

Can't think of a better slingshot reviewer than yourself Jeorg.

Where is your "slingshot channel"?

I heard somewhere that slingshots with the yolk closer together are more accurate(?),
while the one's with further apart slightly more powerfull???
( I was working with a Palestinian guy, hence started discussing slingshots. )

Also When I was very young, i had a "rocket" with rubber band inside and propellor outside, It ran along a fishing string.
My brother soaked the rubber band in mineral oil (or mineral spirits, Dang, forgot which one) overnight,
it won everytime.

So we soaked our slingshot band in it overnight and it was the most accurate and smoothest ever tubing.

BTW, Also, moving companies use flat bands which look like giant rubber bands very often to secure shipping blankets to furniture for protection. 8)

Great projects Joerg! I do think BTB's idea if going with a magazine of ammo might be something to work on. He was suggesting only a single magazine I believe but you could just as easily apply the idea to all 6 here. Just think if those tubes were spring loaded and big enough to hold a stack of ammo. You would have to have a catch of some sort at the end but I think it would be very doable.

I like your presentation style.

I like it. Good job.

Is there any particular reason there isn't a wrist/arm brace?

They are illegal in Germany (where Jorg lives), with harsh sanctions.

Here is the channel:

And it is the other way round, narrow forks are more powerful, but it is harder to aim with them. Wide forks are weaker but easier to shoot. Most advanced shooters that hunt (and therefore need power) use pretty narrow forks.

It is like pulling a wrecked car out of a ditch with a pair of oxen, you want the beasts to be as close together as possible for parallel power vectors.

Many people asked me to do a tutorial; How to make a powerful steel slingshot without welding equipment.

Finally, at last, here it is:

very nice.

makes me want to make one.
my dad has some band that he used to strenthen his ankle after his accident and i was wondering if that was the same type of rubber. he has several differnet ones and of course the thickest and stiffest would made the most power.

i if i do make it i might use a round tube instead of square but other than that practicly the same.

You can use round tube, but it is not easy to drill straight holes through it.

Very simple with square tubes.

But it really doesn't matter, the cool idea is to use the eye bolts and looped rubber.

You may want to test the strength of the rubber, though - four strings is mighty strong even with easy tube.

i will definetly try different bands but i will only proly be able to pull back some of the weeker ones consistanly cuz im well..... weak..... your arm is about 4 times the size of mine.

and round tube wont be hard. just use a center punch, then a starting bit, then finish it out to the correct size. havinga drill press also helps

Good tools are great. I sometimes forget how it was when all I had was a balcony, an iron saw and a drill. Plus nosy neighbors.

Nice oven. :)

That's a pretty good How-to if you ask me. You covered pretty much everything, although I do have a few questions. Has the clay ever cracked or chipped on you? Also, have the knots that keep the rubber together even failed or come undone? Again, nice How-to.
