Ok, so i thought i might contribute my current project.

It's made from 25mm aluminium plate (unknown grade)
i don't have any cutting tools beside the odd jigsaw,
so i drilled holes and punched the excess aluminium with a flat head and a hammer, and it took a bloody long time.....

No way near finished,
and will spend much time filing it......









More updates later in the future...

you know they sell jig saw blades for aluminium.

yeah, but they only had blades for 12mm thick aluminium for my jigsaw model.

A true repeating slingshot crossbow was always something I knew I had to make one day. Lots of problems to be solved. How do you deal with the band twisting? How do you cleanly line up the "pouch" every time? How do you feed a ball into the pouch without jamming?

Now I have done it - the first functional repeating slingshot crossbow is reality. It "fires" 20 mm (.79") steel balls.

The weapon can be loaded with 20 "rounds" within just a few seconds. Then, a simple racking action feeds a round into the chamber and cocks the bands.

The weapon is used here to smash eight glass bottles, which is done in one uncut passage with just six shots:

Haha, the sound is excellent in that video, hearing that you know something crazy is going on Looks like great fun.

I'd add a vertical front grip, or a rail to attach one and have a small band pulling the pump grip forward. Would add a little to the effort of drawing but also to the cool factor

I made something like that years ago, but without a functional magazine.
That works so well!

I used pulleys to double the length of the pull, then doubled the amount of rubber bands to get the same power, but keep the long stroke.

Mine was configured like a bullpup though.
I strongly advise you to consider shortening the rubber bands, but keeping the same lenght of pull by using pulleys.
That way you can do the same but get it more compact.
The " cross" could be narrower.

IMPORTANT EDIT!!

I forgot to tell you why I used pulleys in the first place!
You work out right? Take a look at the lat pulley machine.
Chances are it will work like this.The weight travels half the distance of the pullbar right?

Because a pulley is fixed to the weightpack and the pullrope loops around the pulley onto a fixed point.

I used this to my advantage.I applied the same principle to the launcher.
The weight gets replaced by rubber bands.
Your hand gets replaced my the ammo.

I doubled the bands to make to make up for the powerloss.
This means the pullrope has to travel TWICE THE SPEED of the rubber bands but with the same power driving it!!

I used the pulley as " second gear" and doubled the " engine size" to make up for the lack of torque so to speak.

That's why my version embedded a marble halfway into a solid door, eventhough the gun was smaller.

Edit: just watched some of your other vids.You already have a bullpup-pulley slingshot.
Now just combine the two!( and use the second gear trick!!)

That's right, I wanted to find out what non metal knifes and non metal slingshot ammo can do to a block of ballistic gelatin.

I started out with the gorgeous flint knife Ad'lan (from the Zombie forum) made for me (we traded a while ago), and then went on and tested a dogwood knife (my own handiwork), a Cold Steel "Grivory" knife (plastics) and a Kyocera ceramics knife. Then, I tested what pebbles do to the gelatin, in comparison to steel and lead.



All of the knifes proved to be dangerous, even the wooden one. The Cold Steel was the best stabber, the ceramics knife the best slasher. The pebbles penetrated the gelatin about two inches deep (the metal balls went straight through).

My conclusion: Either allow everybody to take a knife aboard, or increase security. It is simply too easy for criminals and terrorists to smuggle weapons through security.

Now lots of people commented that there is metal in the ceramics and grivory knife. That is a myth. Cold Steel attached a (removable) key ring to the knife, that is all. The whole knife (w/o the key ring) weighs only about 30 gramms, just twice as much as my wedding ring. Not heavy enough to trigger the detectors even if HALF the knife would be metal.

And there is NO metal in the small Kyocera ceramics knife. I checked.

What do YOU think should be done? Increase security, or legalize on board weapons?
