has anyone made a nerf gun, and by that i dont mean just a pneumatic with a nerf dart in it, i mean a gun that you made for a nerf. i really want to make one cause i just bought a laser off ebay for aus$30 including shipping, i would put it on an pneumatic but i dont have any that are working atm, and i am to lazy to make one work. plus you can use nerf guns on your mates and they dont hurt much.

Why don't you just shine that laser on your mates? :D That doesn't hurt either. You can say you made a laser rifle, which is probably as useful as a nerf gun.

Alot of stuff is illegal in Austraila :x :x :x all because some people went on killing spree's and got all these lwas layed down about fire arms and such i mean you cant even have a slingshot or a paintball gun without a license its soooooooo gay.And as for fireworks they are illegal except in our capital state???go figure???and thats were the laws are decided.

I don't know how the law is going to qualify a rail gun?

@Rambo: since gauss guns in general are not very practical weapons (low energy output to size), I believe they are considered linear motors rather than any kind of weapon. You could just say it's for science sake and possibly get a teacher to back you up. Good question, though.

@Concerned aussies :)
I think you're misinterpreting the law. Are you telling me you'll never find a single nerf gun in toy stores in Australia? Are you allowed to play tennis, then? 'cause a tennis ball in mid flight has more energy than a silly little foam dart.
The reason why nerf/bb guns are not allowed is because they look like real guns from a distance. If you make your own and it doesn't look anything like a real gun you'd be ok. It's a good idea to check with your local Police Station. That way you'll know for sure.

AAAAAAAAAAA why bloody foam! such cool guns but they shoot FOAM!

if you in Austailia want to have some fun make your own bows,put sponge on the end of the arrows and then you can stalk each other in the bush or something(provided you wear protection for your vital parts) and you can put colored pigment in the sponge so you can tell who shot who.if its legal in Austrailia though.

im with )DEMON( on this one. i actually just got done making a nerf gun INTO an airsoft gun and its a heck of a lot cooler than it used to be. it would be semi-auto or automatic if i knew how to make a working clip for the thing. nerf guns are fun ill give you that but its way more exciting if you have a reason to want to shoot someone or a reason to not want to get shot because it hurts.

They are trying to make nerf guns illegal :x And cap guns aswell because they have a negative impact on people and promote the use of weapons on other people as being "ok" even if it is made of foam....They even made those little snap popper things illegal you no the ones that are made out of paper and some rocks and are as big as a marble it sucks so bad.But the nerf guns and such arent illegal yet,but there are definitly alot less of them being stocked around the country and in a few years they will be illegal........Australia is over governed.....To many taxes....And now when you are on your provisional lisence for your car you are not allowed forced induction or a v8,v10,12 until you are off your provisional lisences which is 3 years in New South Wales......But back to spudding i've had my bitch for today...

Well, it's foam! What did you expect?! Besides having a nice-looking gun and the pleasure of pulling a trigger, nerfing is pretty silly IMO. You'd be better off using a laser tag system. Airosft comes next, then paintball. Then the army :lol:
