I too love lighters, however I also tend to lose things...

Have a few Zippo's rattling round in random drawers, some $10 specials from the gas station... and my precious.

Its a Colibri 3 jet flame butane lighter. GREAT for toasting cigars evenly.

I have 2 satin zippos, one standard and one small, and an ex camoflauged one which I had sandblasted down to the brass finish :D

For day-to-day use I have an imitation zippo :)

Yeah I quit smoking cigarettes 10months ago. Still enjoy a few cigars a month, but I have made the switch to e-cigs.

My current "lighter"

This is my pride and joy:

Bought it in Florence for 60 euro. Can get it on ebay for about $25USD or less i'm pretty sure :P I bought it while in Europe when I was 15, hence me not knowing any better about the price. I don't collect lighters even though I have that zippo, a gold zippo, a silver zippo a knock-off zippo from the Hofbräuhaus in Munich and another knock-off from Italy which has a picture of Mussolini on the front with "Il Duce" in text. :D

Did it come with a rubber band to tie around your gonads ;)
I have made the switch to e-cigs
Out of curiousity, how do you find them? And what were you smoking before, for the sake of comparison?

My dad built a fire piston. Over Thanksgiving, I helped him get it working. I started building one. For the cylinder, I am using a Slurpee metal straw from 7-11. They are anodized aluminum and come in a variety of colors. They have an ID of 3/8ths inch. I turned down some UHMWPE to fit one end with a tight o ring for the base. I made a piston from a hardwood dowel, but it was too soft and split.

I have a blue one, the second from the left.

For a fix I just picked up a 3/8ths steel rod from the hardware store. I'll have a new piston soon.

If there were a 7-11 anywhere within 50 miles of me, I'd go for the green one.

:D

How much are those ?

~~~
I've been thinking that, using the collective knowledge of different kinds of projectile launching we have here...
There must be some way to build a compact, self-powered version.
Load, then pull/push a trigger, and the piston does the compression bit all on it's own.
If you can't fix it, you don't own it.
I don't remember the price. It was not too expensive. I think it was $1.25 US. The prices on eBay is insane.
@ Tech- when I first read your post I figured you posted in the wrong section lol. However, a quick google search later, I now want one myself. +1internet for you sir!
@JSR I used to smoke a pack and a half of Camel wides daily... for over 6 years. I tried patches, I tried gum, I tried chantix... Hell I even tried chewing. All that ended up happening was smoking with a patch on, or smoking with gum, or smoking while chewing... you get the picture.
3days man... THREE EFFING DAYS of vaping (slang for using a vaporizer) and I was done with cigarettes. I found that I enjoyed it quite better than smoke. It IS a tad different than smoking (burns on the exhale rather than the inhale) but it "hits" you JUST THE SAME. It will spin your head in the mornings :D
e-cig forums- www.vaportalk.com
my supplier- www.vaporgalaxy.com
Forums has a lot of information... they are the Spudfiles of the e-cig world. Feel free to PM me ANYYYY questions, as I am a huge advocate of vaporizing.
