I like cheese

As it looks now, this thread is off-topic, but not useless. A lot of funny stuff is shown here, exactly as I wanted it to be.

As a Dutchman, I would like to know what sort of cheese you like

Edam primarily, but a lot of other cheeses taste nice. apart from most soft cheeses, which taste vile

Edam is 116 kilometres from my house

I like virtually every cheese, except from casu marzu (see below) and a Danish cheese wich smelled like crap (seriously) and smelly feet.

The texture is horrible (well on most French cheeses) but I have not tried much other kinds of soft cheese apart from French

In the Netherlands that's actually quite far

You should try some blue cheese, I love it

This french cheese is pretty famous for having worms on it (the grey envelop around it is not moisture or simple fungus but very little worm keeping the cheese clean.

Nasty, now that is why you don't eat French cheese

Cheddar....preferably old cheddar...3-7 years.

Apple wood smoked cheddar...yum.

Feta, edam, gouda, esrom, monteray jack, jalapeno jack...it's all good.

I looked them up. The don't even look like cheese! This is the stuff they put in cheeseburgers at McDonald's.

Pushing back to the subject of music for a bit... Epica has reported that they have not yet felt any sort of loss from torrenting and pirating, because of concert revenue. IMO, any music producer that's not good enough to stay afloat off live performance earnings probably shouldn't exist in the first place.

I agree....I heard the group Alabama state that even with 41 #1 hits to their credit, 90% of their income is derived from touring ticket sales and only 10% from record sales.

In the US they do very well. They threaten you with a lawsuit. It boils down to we can make it go away for between $2500 and $5000. If you don't make it go away, we sue. They get lots of people who know a good lawyer is $250/hour and a couple months of work even if you win is a loss.

So if 23,000 people refused the settlement and told whatever company is suing them that they'll see them in court, this company would have to sue 23,000 people. I imagine they'd argue to do it as one case but doesn't everyone have a right to be in the court at the time of the trial?

I just think the company might be bluffing if the majority of the people refuse to pay.

You can see if the RIAA is bluffing. Many cases are dragging out in court now. I suspect the film industry will do the same.

I'll bet they ARE bluffing... They're betting that not every case will demand to have a full trial, because not everyone is willing to risk losing money by not settling out of court. It's game theory, really.
