To be fair, the Wikileaks people did approach the U.S. embassy in London to talk about redacting information that could get servicemen killed. Basically, the U.S. embassy told them to f*ck off. I'm not a fan of Assange, but there's not a single law* in the U.S. they can charge him with so i'm sick of all these American politicians and military figures calling him a criminal.

*The 1917 Espionage Act requires Assange to know that he was going to harm the lives of U.S. citizens or something like that. Since he talked to the U.S. embassy and showed interest in protecting people, there's not much the U.S. courts can do to try and prove he had intent to endanger lives.

I suppose I'll go off topic from the current off topic topic of the off topic thread :D :D

DYI, what is your current situation in your mess? Have you considered suing (or threatening to sue) the media/police. I know you're not in the sue-happy US, but c'mon. That's make one hell of a news story
In other news, a young man is attempting to sue QWG news because it utterly lied in a previous story.

This guy is really good. He should turn professional.

What impresses me is the precisely calculated bursts at extreme deflection, one gets a better understanding of why aircraft guns tend to have such blistering rates of fire in order to pump as much lead as possible out in that brief instant the enemy aircraft are in your sights.

I would certainly spluff in her dirtbox if the opportunity arose :D Tarja was hotter though.

Singing loudly to "sleeping sun" in an exageratedly Finnish accent is one of the laboratory pastimes in lighter moments :)

I'm not sure if that's more like using brass knuckles to attack a 250kg gorilla, or trying to steal a black bear's cubs while she's sleeping. Either way, I fail to see the appeal.

I don't see any symphonic metal on there... (No, I've never seen that map before :?)

Go to the bottom of the map, and keep scrolling over to the right. It's slightly SE of Metalcore.

A few.

I'm told some are because I used "Last of the Wilds" as the backing music for the HEAL video. That's also the reason the video's no longer on Youtube, because of copyright issues.
So what do you think of Anette?
Tarja was great, but it obviously wasn't still working, so there's no point in sitting around whining about the change.

If you prefer Tarja's stuff, listen to that. If you're going to sit around listening to Dark Passion Play and saying it would have been better if Tarja had sung it, you're wasting your time - that was never going to happen.

Both are good singers - different, but there's not a problem with that.
It does mean Nightwish have moved from operatic metal, but it's not like we should expect every single Nightwish song to be exactly the same. Compare "Angels fall first" and "Know why the Nightingale sings" - so totally different in style that you could be forgiven for not realising they're by the same band, but they're on the same album!

Both have sung things that I like. As for who is better - while Dark Passion Play was a good album, one album is not enough for me to make any particular conclusions about whose singing I prefer.

There's some of the older songs which live performances have shown Anette is not as strong on, but to be entirely fair, those were written for Tarja, so anyone else was always going to be less ideal for singing them.
I have no doubts there are things which will be written for Anette which Tarja would have been less suitable for - but we won't know about those.

Feelings may be mixed towards Anette, but I'd say look at the earlier Sami/Marco changeover, also driven by the member's attitudes.
Many will say that was the death of the band... I disagree. With the way things were, the band couldn't have continued as it was.

In a choice between a slightly different Nightwish and no Nightwish, I'll take the former please (if it's not to my liking, I'll just ignore it and listen to old albums). Anyway, I like Marco's singing.
