In fact, my own smoke detector have no internal battery, it is linked to the house alarm, that silently call the maintenance guy who very politely call me back during the day and suggest that I change the backup battery (for the main alarm system).
I've never figured out why central alarm components are so expensive. I too have one wired to the alarm, but only one. They were too expensive. The rest of the house is filled with plenty of detectors for all the rest of the rooms. Ideally, the whole house should have the detectors all tied together so when one alarms, they all alarm (as per the alarm manual) but with only one detector tied to the panel that feature is lost.

End rant,, back on topic.. Most alarm wired smoke detectors are 4 or 5 wire. Does the invention plate include versions for these detectors besides the 3 wire plate?

The connections on a 4 wire detector are 2 for power and alarm with reversed polarity, and the monitored loop.

Link, proof?

I re-read your post.

3 wires are all that is needed for linked smoke detectors all of which beep if 1 is triggered.

OTOH I can make a unit with 8-10 wires if necessary.

So it's a pissing contest now? Got a news flash, if my smoke alarm gets on my nerves all that bad I'll grab the broom that I all ready own and knock it off the fucken wall... problem solved, nuff said! :x

Look up Monitored Alarm 20 mA Current Loop. It is a requirement for monitored alarms.. Please research the subject if you intend to enter the market.

Check the installation manuals for any of the following Wired Monitored detectors.

The PDF of my detector is on this page near the bottom. Note the photo of the base. 5 connections. It can be wired for 4 or 5 wire systems. The 5th connection is for tamper alarm. It opens a circuit when the detector is removed.

Why are so fast with your unasked for marketing advice?

When I post a pneumatic cannon invention, we never discuss marketing.

Why is that?

I am not interested in commercial applications.

My E-Z Reach is designed for homeowners.

There are 100,000,000 installed smoke detectors that will fit my unit.

It should be part of all new construction.

We are in contact with a major manufacturer.

A commercial high quality video is to be shot in the next 30 days.

Sorry you took my post as a piss..

Home security alarms are common. Do you have one? Does it have a monitored smoke detector? Will the fire department respond if you are away?

Will they only send police because a motion detector is all that is sensed?

Many home fires are first detected as an intrusion as there is no fire detection connected to the home alarm.

My post was to ask if alarm system smoke detectors would be supported. Sorry you took it wrong. Why have a wired smoke detector not part of the monitored alarm system?

I can throw the broom and never ever have I said anything about marketing.

Do you hold any legitimate patent's for any invention of yours? The answer to this question is either yes I do, or no I don't.

Thanks to our esteemed moderator, I combined a response to you and jrrdw.

He brought up pissing, not you.

Look, when it comes to T shirt launching, I couldn't shine your shoes.

You have earned my respect in many spud related issues.

Once in a while you miss the point.

All is forgiven.

But for the little asswipes who have zero life experience and who would rather flame than learn a thingy or two, I have zero respect.

I was not surprised when it was you who asked about the torque problem

It was also astute of you to bring up 4 wire units.

I was aware of them, but they are not part of my present marketing plan.

Are you capable of maintaining reasonable discourse on ANY subject Stu?

Well, let's see.

How many posts did it take for you to get it after viewing the video.

You can easily see the entire smoke detector with plugs and all in my hand.

Pick a subject and we will see.

I will start with one of my favorite hobbies: Etymology.

What is the plural of Oxymoron?

What is the opposite of an Oxymoron?

Give an example of each.

Had I listened to other peoples opinions about marketing my inventions, I would not live in a house with tall ceilings, own a beach house, and enjoy toys like these:
And you'd probably have a lot more friends, and a lot less people telling you how much of a douchebag you are on a regular basis.
Hooray for loneliness!

Thanks for respecting my opinion so highly.
It has nothing to do with respect, it goes to character. I want to know whether you can actually form an argument. Hell, even a paragraph. You obviously have no clue what to say to back up your opinion, just as you have little clue about how to back up most of your "arguments". It was clear long before this spat about my avatar that you are unable to form coherent paragraphs or arguments.

You couldn't even understand a simple question of mine which I repeated three times (see below)...
MrCrowley wrote:Are there any particular reasons table saws were never made like how you've made yours, Stu?
boyntonstu wrote: Why are the numbers made, or the money earned your issue?
I wanted a safe saw to use.
I built one.
It is that simple.
Same with my $100 elevator.
I want cheap, effective, and safe.
You?
MrCrowley wrote:Hahahaha Stu you really need to calm down. I wasn't being hostile at all, it was just a question because I literally have no expertise and little experience in the field. I just wondered why there weren't more table saw designs like this if there were no disadvantages but only advantages to your design. Surely you weren't the first person to think of this (although you may have been the first to put it in to practice), perhaps someone found a problem with this particular design.

Take a chill pill.

edit: You'll notice I didn't ask why you built it but why all other table saws aren't built like this.
boyntonstu wrote: Think back to your High School experience.
If my saw was used, would the accident you described happen?
MrCrowley wrote:No. What does that have to do with all table saws not being made like yours? Do you even understand what I'm asking?

This is a sincere, genuine question: why are all table saws made how they are (saw on the table) and not inverted (saw above the table) like yours? This is not a hostile question and is not meant to demean your invention, if anything it would compliment it. I'm not sure if anyone has so far found a fault with your 'invention' so my question is why all table saws are not made like yours. As for kickback and risk of losing a finger, yours does appear to be safer. Then again, I have very little experience in this field so my thoughts on the matter mean little.

Is it just me or are you having trouble understanding what I'm asking?
boyntonstu wrote: Look, you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink.
Let's compare TS vs Thingy.
A TS can only tilt in 1 direction, Thingy in 2 directions.
One of the reasons for the Thingy is that I ran into an impossible cut on my TS.
It got me thinking about an ideal saw that could do the cut. Lightbulb! THINGY!
Safety 1: A TS has a dangerous spinning blade that is exposed above the table. Anything can fall onto the blade including fingers.
Thingy: The blade is enclosed and nothing from above can fall onto it.
Safety 2: The operator of a table saw usually stands in line with the blade and the spinning teeth 'see' his face and eyes.
Thingy: Operator stands aside the spinning blade hiding from the spinning teeth.
Safety 3: Kickback: TS-always a danger. Thingy-never a danger.
Should anything kickback with a Thingy, the piece could never hit you.
(I never stand in front of my loaded air cannon, why should I stand in front of a spinning blade?)
There are some additional points, but I hope that you get the point.
Like so many of my inventions, the Thingy is unconventional, and many people are skeptical of new ideas.
Being ahead of the crowd is not exactly the most comfortable place to be, but it has been the story of my life.
I accept it.

Since you obviously fail to understand the question on purpose, I locked the topic due to trolling. Trolling is when you're trying to annoy people on purpose. Either you're ignorant of the question, too arrogant to ask for further (think three explanations was enough) clarification on the question or you're just trolling.

I even gave you a very simple choice for the answer. You choose to flame me and most all of Spudfiles members.
