Hehe, if I didn't have my own vehicle I wouldn't have even gotten as far as getting the thing in the back of the truck. If I did get in that situation I would be out of money and most likely missing a TV from my room when I got back home. They would have to get that money back from somewhere.

Not the right thing to do...I'm continually surprised and appalled by what some folks think is "acceptable" behaviour.

I'm amazed at how dense so many people are. This pales in comparison to some of the ridiculous behavior I have run across. Idiocracy is seeming more and more realistic as each day passes. :?

You pay for the insurance, and I never said it was right or wrong, simply stated thats what I would do. And its only fraud if you get caught. :D If you find that appauling I wonder what you would think of something serious... @ Mr. Tallahassee if telling a white lie saves me a few hundred dollars it doesnt make me an idiot, it makes me normal in my opinion. When you hit puberty and mommy and daddy stop taking care of you and you put your big boy pants on and grow some balls and have a clue what life is about you let me know....

Think your parents took the most reasonable course of action. I once t-boned someone because they indicated left to pullover (we're on the other side of the road here, remember) so as they started pulling over I went around them and then they indicated right and pulled out in front of me and even though I was only doing 40kph, I couldn't stop in time.

The lady didn't speak English (how did she get a drivers licence?), her husband called the cops and I got charged with reckless driving. I had to pay $1250 for the insurance excess but a few months later I got the money back with a letter from the insurance company saying that they over-ruled the police officer's decision and charged the lady for the damage instead. The police refused to overturn my reckless driving charge but it should be wiped off my record by now.

I think I was a victim of age discrimination by the police as I was 16-17 at the time on my restricted licence but I wasn't speeding, the lady couldn't speak a word of English and her husband, who was the one who gave her statement to the cops, didn't even witness the crash (it happened outside their house). Apparently you're not allowed to over-take a car that pulls over to the side of the road unless they're at a complete stop yet somehow you're allowed to pull out across traffic without looking and it not be your fault if a car hits you. :?
