Maybe a gram of gas?Yeh not much i would think. Does anyone thats an Australian no where i can get a good value were they wont say ohh it worthe $300 but really worthe like $3000???It would be a great help and all i seem to find on the net is BUY BUY BUY COINS! and sh!t like that which si really annoying.

In that secret compartment they would hide information on microfilm. So literaly you could have a 100 page book in that coin on microfilm.

It's not actually my listing - was trying to find out how much they go for. I've contacted the seller to try and find out what the offer was, but no response as yet.

Is that true? I'm surprised that they had microfilm in 1854. But having checked, it was invented in 1853 by John Dancer, a British optician. It just seems odd to think of spies using microfilm in the time of Napoleon. Of course, it needn't have necessarily been created in 1854, just because it's written on the coin. After all, the coin contains trickery! I had presumed it would store tiny messages on paper, or perhaps would be used for a picture of a loved one (locket stylee). But then I suppose that wouldn't have to be disguised as a coin.
Anyone know any more? I'm finding this item more and more intriguing!
