I know it's kind of off topic, but I just wanted to point out..

John Kerry is a hunter and owns guns, and is pro-gun, but anti-NRA. Like it should be. Not that I like(d) Kerry, but he was (and still is) better than Bush.

I'm very liberal. Like shadowghost21, I vote liberally and have left-wing views. I also have a closet full of guns, and shoot regularly.

Don't stereotype us. Just because there are some flaming anti-gun liberals doesn't mean the rest of us don't have common sense.

And come on, the GOP has screwed America more than Bin Laden could/did. We're 9 trillion bucks in debt and over-extended in a fraudulent war. Now is a bad time to be bashing the left wing, when you take a good look at the right wing.

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

If what has been said does not work and you still feel like trying to
convince him you have about two choices. 1 go to something less
"dangerous" but still a little dangerous.
2. go to something more dangerous.
Examples for 1 Examples for 2
bow making explosives

make model planes diving of course dicuse how dangerous it would be
then mount model rocket if done inproperly
engines in the back exhaust
a car would work to Fireworks

rock climbing rock climbing without gear of any kind

The list just keeps going good luck

you guys are the only people ive got
That is a bit sad...maybe try and get out a bit more. But hey, I'm not here trying to put you down but still...work a bit on your grammar especially on such a large post. That's something that infuriates me to "know" end.

I do feel your pain in the narrow minded parental department. It can suck, but just try to keep it calm and if they have no idea what they're talking about, say to them in a nice and rational manor "Why don't you just take some time to research and get come conclusive evidence to support your point of view", or something along those lines.

now that ive slept on it im not as pissed, and i know i dont really hate my dad. its just his opinions that piss me off. im sorry for bashing librels, i was posting this at 10:00 and i was a little emotional.

Whem i say u geys are the only guy i got, i just dont talk to my other freinds about spudding and stuff

My dad built my first gun with me, and afterwards he wouldn't stop talking about how dangerous it was. my mother and my father both seem tot think that a cannon is measured in power not by any thing specific, but by how scary it looks to them. my last paintball rifle is the one my dad thinks is too powerful, and my mom said, when i was halfway done"i dont like that ben, its extremely powerful and extremly dangerous" before she even saw it fire. i'm sorry once again for bashing librels, and thats not the right term to describe my parents, but i think that they have been brainwashed by all that anti-gun crap they show on tv here in MA

you beebs are like myself, my parent absolutely hate guns but they are both conservitives. i wasnt even aloud to have a nerf gun until i was 10, and that is exactly why i now have an obsession with them and everything else that goes boom. its the fact the they are just out of your grasp that makes you want them, i mean if my parents had just bough me a cap gun when i was 7 and an airsoft gun when i was 12 i would have gotten bord of them both and went to go play with legos or something. but i wasnt aloud to buy them and im still not so i make them (bet my dads kicking himself for buying me that mechanical engineeerihg book when i was 5).

now my parent havent taken mine away yet because there mostly pneumatic and for some reason that fact that they run on air doesnt scare them evan though there way more powerful that combustions. now just because your parent dont want you to have them doesnt mean you cant have them, im currently working on 2 "black" projects right now (a sniper that uses metal bbs and a tp cannon). the trick is making them in small sections and transporting them to your friends houses. of course most my friends have no common sense and i can convince them to do anything for me, so that makes it alot easyier. i even got 2 of them into spud, of course it not anywhere near the level im at.

i think the reason im still aloud to make these is because my dad knows i can make anything into explosives, were talking like c4 but much less stable. he also now i can make high powered lasers out of household materials. so he figures this will keep me from doing such things and hes right but i know somewhere deep down inside when he saw my first full sized combustion cannon fire and heard it low rumble he was say "holy sh*t that f-ing awsome" but if he cant say it because it goes against everything he satnds for.

now dont think this is all bad you can use this to your advantage at times, for example i got into computer, figured out how to build them and such. so my dad will pretty much do anything to prevent me from building guns so he donated me $600 so i can build my $1200 computer.

the moral of the story find something that scares the crap out of your parents like explosives or high powered lasers and use that to convince them you'd be better off building spudguns

edit: i just saw that you live in MA, dude i live in MA to i hate this place theres to many gay laws

THat's a major reason for the Federal Assault Weapons Ban, guns that looked "scary" were banned on their looks, not on their lethality. Such bullcrap isn't it?

Ok I just came back to this topic and relized that my post was illegible (I

im thinking that i will delete my previous post because im not mad at them anymore, but recruit, you say i should suggest paintball as a more dangerous hobby, well me wanting to buy a paintball gun was what started this whole thing off, i already play paintball, rock climb, and play with fireworks also, its just the owning of a gun that makes them mad

Sometimes I get the idea that my parents think I'm anti-social.

I'm not really into going out and partying and whatever else with friends. It's just not my thing. I'd take being home building something over going out any day.

The more guns I build the more my parents are opposed to them. I think they're kind of getting afraid of my obcession with weapons. I would NEVER use them for a bad purpose unless I really had to. For example, my sister overheard that some kids are out to bust up her car on mischief night. In that case, I'll do what I have to stop them.

I'm a peaceful person, until you f*ck with my family, then you're screwed.

I live in New Jersey so you can imagine how hard it is to enjoy my hobby. There are laws against everything I consider fun, and no open fields to just go and blast crap to pieces.

They want to stop building guns because it's illegal and they think I might get caught. I understand this but I just like building a gun, shooting it a few times, and then putting away with all my other accomplishments.

I would NEVER hate my parents though.

exactly! building the stuff is half the fun! but shooting them is fun, too.
