Yeah, I first learned "Metalstorm" had already been invented on that show.

On the show comparing the "knock-down power" of a .45 acp SMG Vs. 9mm, then also the show comparing knock down of 5.56 Vs. the new Barret 6mm whatever, I noticed on both it sure looked like he aimed at the top (head) and lower for the "less effective" shots to knock them over.
So I added that to my public un-scientificness post thread on theopia.

BTW, I heard that guy used to work for a friend's computer firm, quit to work on "Future Weapons" (understandably). But I heard that show may be getting cancelled already. 8)

But Future Weapons is such a good show, I love watching it.

What really pisses me off is when I hear something on Tv that is totally wrong because there's nothing I can do about it. So now loads of people have been fed false information.

I hate it when people eat disgustingly/very slowly. Also when people walk around with ketchup or sumthin on their faces

i hate when you use loads of money and time on a big ass gun and when you fire it you have to get one more part you can't get to go higher than 3x

What I don't get is why he always talks like he's in a noisy library, in a sort of slow, hushed, yet still loud voice.

I hate it how there's more video footage of Jimi Hendrix in the 60's then there was Randy Rhoads in the Late 70's/Early 80's

I also hate people who think Zakk Wylde wrote Crazy Train

@MrC: Well, not everybody necessarily shares your admiration for Randy Rhoads - I'll agree with you, he's great, but his name doesn't have the same gravitas as Hendrix's.

Mind you, I've never been a fan of Hendrix myself - he's good, but it's not quite my type of music.

My favourite guitarist is probably Mark Knopfler - if there's one man who's skill I utterly envy, it's him.
There are some pieces of music that just seem perfect to me, and he's behind a lot of them. If you were keen eyed, you might have noticed in my "favourite music tracks" thread that Dire Straits is the only band to have appeared twice on my list.

Oh I didn't mean it that way. I meant more the fact that more technology was available 15-20 years later when Rhoads was around compared to Hendrix, yet Hendrix still has more footage of him.

Considering how much Rhoads achieved in only 2 American studio albums, chances are he would've been right up their with Hendrix and others in no time. Personally I think Rhoads was on the same level as Hendrix musically genius wise. He probably had one of the most advanced minds for guitar at his time. He just didn't have the time to share it.

Unlike most guitarists Rhoads would better himself constantly while still on tour, most guitarists just try and deal with the concerts and then advance later on in the studio. He also took classical lessons most days and had been a teacher for many years, so his knowledge was beyond anyone of that time.

But since there's so little of him music wise, not all of it could be expressed, but if you listen to the outro solo in 'Tonight' (without the fade) you'll see his musical genius, it's damn near jaw dropping what he accomplished in that solo alone. He made noises no one thought was possible from a guitar and according to the Producer of the album, it was all improvised on the spot as said by Max Norman here:
"At the end there, Randy said, "Just roll it round to me, and I'll wax some stuff on the end." The main lead guitar going out of there was pretty much one-take."

Fun Fact: Van Halen had an American record deal, were hugely popular and successful yet when they were playing clubs on the Strip in the late 70's, no footage of their concerts has ever surfaced, yet Quiet Riot, their less successful rival with no American record deal had a number of shows Pro-Filmed.

In the early 80's, a Japanese car company sponsored a competition to see who could walk across the water on Tokyo Bay.
A Buddhist monk, Ace Frehley, and Randy Rhoads were the contestants. With throngs cheering him on, the monk went first, but unfortunately sunk after only a few steps.

Ace went next. He very slowly walked about 50 yards out into Tokyo Bay, turned around and edged his way back. The KISS fans went wild.

They were soon silenced, however, when Randy Rhoads picked up his polka-dot Flying V and sprinted out into Tokyo Bay for about 300 yards, smashed his axe on a passing oil tanker and sprinted back to shore. The disciples of the Blizzard went totally nuts.

Afterwards, Ace walked up to Randy and said, "I kind of feel bad for the monk, Randy. We should have told him about the stepping stones." Randy replied, "What stepping stones?"

Anyway back on topic for me.... the EVH interview about Randy Rhoads straight after his death pisses me off.

My sister Had one of those little evil things it short circuitted in the middle of the night and started sayin hmmmmmm me hungry and yay in it's for friggin annoying voice.

That always struck me as slightly odd, but it's sort of a matter of context - think about it this way.

If I were to tell a good friend that they're an idiot, that can be considered sort of friendly banter.
If I tell someone I've never met that they're an idiot, then in that case, that's going to cause problems.

Same kind of thing in this case really.

I hate wannabe gangsta's in NZ who think they're part of the Bloodz or Cripz when the Bloodz and Cripz are barely outside of the US let alone in NZ.
