ok, thanks to schmanman for the idea.

im into claymation and he gave me the idea of incorporating a potato cannon into a claymation.
my guys usually go from 1"-5" tall, and it takes about four hours to make a 30-45 second clip.
any ideas on plot, props, tips...anything! and also should there be any rules involving gore/content?
nothing unreasonable either.

an example of some previous ones can be found on this site: http://web.mac.com/gato216/iWeb/Claymat ... an2.1.html or http://web.mac.com/gato216/iWeb/Claymat ... ovies.html

thanks for the input,
Bryce

umm, read what i said in your other claymation thread

also, use some frag grenades and such

and for the plot:

"...a long time ago, in an Offrage far far away, there was a hero...(show the clay dude holding q-tip gun)"

"...his mission, to destroy the evil hybrid zombies(show about 5 of these green dudes holding hybrids made of clay)"

then, commence with battle seens kill two guys with q-tip gun, two guys with one frag grenade, and one guy using your own method, in no particular order

"on that day, our hero killed five hybrid zombies that were endangering his village...and he had a hell of a tme doing it too"

make the stuff in quotes someone talking or typing on the screen, or both!

good luck with this!!!

good idea... but instead, make the hero have a welded aluminum hybrid, and the enemies armed with cell-core combustions and DWV pneumatics  ...make sure to have at least one of the enemies blow up from using improper pipe...

Yeah, I agree. Make a model of Joel's aluminum gun for the hero.

In the scene when he fires the Q-tip gun, make it an actual video for a few seconds and fire the gun for real!

NICE IDEAS!

ya. as i stated in my other post....im not really sure how to record directly into my comp (ive done it once....but that was a long time ago) so im not sure how to do the video scenes. i guess i could just record onto the tape and then dump it.

i think creating true cannons would be a bit too hard, but i have lots of tiny brass pipe, and i could make the explosions/venting of chamber(in pneumatic) using little peices of cotton.

also, should you be able to see the "potatoes" or should it go BANG!-wound?

and ill need a cool title!

ive got some half-days in school soon so I can work on it then.

and should one of the hybrid zombies meet his doom by using ABS or DWV cannons? which brings me to a point, should the cannons have realistic reload times, or BANG-pause (1 sec)-BANG!

also, what type of cannon should the hero use? pneumatic or combustion? i dont think i will go with a q-tip firing mini...just too complicated

Make the fight scene so that you see the enemies shooting (no spuds) then have a scene where it is just the air between the two sides, and there are potatoes flying everywhere (each potato would only be in the shot for a frame or two. It doesn't matter if they disappear because the viewer will assume they just flew off the screen)

Unrealistic reload times, the enemies all have fake guns, the 'hero' has a real pill gun. Just record the pill gun shooting scene onto the camera then dump it on the pc. Also, you could do a whole bunch of pill bottle firings to use as the sound for all the different guns.

meh, as i said, the pill bottle will just be too complicated. also, how would i fire it?maybe I could use it on one of the people as a sort of stationary gun? but for the rest i think ill use mock-ups.

You should like make it a spoof from a movie!
Or the zombie thing was pretty sweet!

sorry bout that midevalman, missed your post. ill upload to photobucket.

the spoof idea is pretty cool, but hard to integrate potato cannons in.

oh, oh, I know! make a zombie get whipped in the face with a bear trap (one of those ones that look like sharp toothed metal dentures) on a chain, and make it tear his face off.
