today while messing with my sparkstrip, my table caught fire and lit a quart of pvc primer on fire and in my panic and confusion I knocked the can over igniting my table and spreading all over my garage, i attempted to get out abd grab the hose but the door was "sucked" close and I couldn't get out. I managed to get out after forcing the door open, I now have second degree burns all over my hands and most of my tools and electronics are shit now.

I am quitting this hobby for a couple months and am leaving my hybrid finished (today) to go untested.

Well its been fun but i somehow i manage to fuck things up

Perhaps it is a government scheme to bring this site down, maybe brian and frankrede are actually dead in an oil drum somewhere and those are CIA agents typing the farewell posts.

I'm feeling for you on that one. I didn't have skin on my left hand from spilling a large volume of hot glue on it. Seriously, when you burn your hands you can't do a single thing with them guys. Even if he wanted to work on spudguns, I have a feeling he can't because he has a giant gauze wad on his hand. I could hardly do anything with my left hand for about the last three weeks. I imagine burning both his hands, frankrede is going to have real "fun" this month.

Do you quit driving forever after you have an accident? NO!

This is just a chance to get some new tools and take a rest, you shall rebound! :D

Sorry about the accident- that is very discouraging.
Best of luck in your recovery process, Frankrede. Take some time to settle your nerves and heal your wounds. We'll see you in a few ... days, weeks, months... whatever it takes to get you back on your feet.

I think the lesson actually is "don't mix sparks and lots of flammable stuff"

Nasty accident there, good thing you managed to get out.

Good luck with your recovery and keep the primer the other side of the garage next time.
