So I guess I was the last person to post there perhaps? I made a topic today after noticing the forums were up. There was also a new section titled something along the lines: Guess it's not so secure after all.
Here is the description:
This forum software is so damn old, it's no wonder there are holes big enough to drive the Province of Ontario through, and we're not even doing the worst we can do.

Just another reason why you shouldn't run outdated software on a shitty server.

Consider moving to PHPBB or something more secure.

The events that took place over the past week were ment as a wakeup call, so for the meantime we will leave you hicks alone, and hope you get the message. If not, worse stuff might happen down the road, not necisarily at our hands.

We leave you with this gem from the site owner, found in the mod-only section of the forum. Enjoy, all you "deviant looooosers"!

"I started the forums to relieve my e-mail load.....If I wanted to deal with thousands of deviant looooosers, I would have bought sex-toy business. - Joel-Spudministrator"

So that's that I guess. Anyone know why it was shut down? Is Joel IN Iraq yet. Is it even definitive? When will he go if he hasn't gone yet? Why were the forums up today? Did anyone else post in them? Well I'm gunna go eat some food as the mysteries are pondered.

Oh btw, I'm from Spudtech (in case you didn't figure it out), but I was a member here in 2004 I believe. Well thats all I guess.[/quote]

Even if they are Jerks (which I would not know) calling them that publicly does nothing but create tension and bad tidings. Instead since there were members there who have what to contribute how about posting on the main page a welcome letter inviting all memebers of Spudtech to join is here in spudfiles. This will further the purpose of this forum which is in case anyone forgot- the art of starch acceleration!

Hotwire you can edit your post or not I am not here to preach. But keep in mind there are others here who have not had a negative experience with Spudtech and there is no sense in creating tension where none was before.

SkweezMyCheez welcome to spudfiles.

does anyone even realize that the creator of Spudfiles came from the SGTC? It's like nobody is aware. And why does everyone hate people the spudtech?

also, the jerks he was referring to were the hackers (i think). Im not giving the hackers publicity, I'm showing the members here (and hopefully some former SGTC members) the strange events today.

I always thought that SpudTech and SpudFiles have have a pretty good relation. I see posts on this forum, SpudTech, and various other forums leading from one site to another.

Why should I edit my post?

Hackers are jerks and they like knowing people talk about them, that clipping is the message from said jerks. I've got lots more bad tidings and tension for them if they want.

I have nothing against the spudtech forum that was.

So far...I would say because at Spudtech we didn't answer questions like "h0w do i build a potato canon?"

How about somebody here with any hacker skills tracks these homos down in their spare time and pokes them in the eyes or something? I just wishing, not thinking. I know (well, think) it's hard to track people and stuff.

I don't intend to try to rate myself by post count but...doesn't it feel weird to see your post count being 8, SkeezeMyCheez? I had finally reached master spudder (I wouldn't call myself that!) on Spudtech but that doesn't matter now. Ohh well...

I wouldnt call them hackers, just script kiddies.
People who randomly vandalize sites like that give true hackers a bad name.
A spudtech admin might be able to track down some IPs and such fairly easily.

If I was a hacker I would think to cover up my tracks. Unless you can't do that on the internet.

Professional "hackers" can "cover their tracks", so to say. They go through several other computers/servers/etc before they get to their target site.
