i picked up a mosin nagant M44 russian rifle at the gunshow for 105 including the transfer fee, it shoots good though the cheapo ammo we used didnt want to eject easily. it was the best looking (and cheapest) mosin at the show. its got a sidefolding bayonet (accidentally stuck myself with it), with a good cleaning the action works flawlessly, and the whole thing is very easy to shoot.

EDIT: upon further research i found it was made at the izhevsk plant in 1946.

I've got one of the eariler longer ones, (1891). Purchased at Big 5 for about $120.

I only took it to the range once (range was 30 miles away and pricy), and neither me, nor my father could hit a thing with it.

That's not to say it's a bad gun, I think we just didn't know how to shoot it at 100 yards.

take a piece of brass (it needs to be a softer metal than the front sight's steel) and lightly hit your front sight left or right depending where you're hitting. if you look at the side of your front sight assembly you'll see its on a rail, it will move around that rail when you hit it left or right.

they're not the most accurate things in the world, but its the shooter, not the gun that makes the shot accurate in the end, i can hit anything with my 80 dollar .22 with a 15 dollar sight, but i've seen people at the range with 3000 dollar custom guns and 1500 dollar leopuld scopes, and they're shooting worse than me, kinda embarrasses them to be outshot by a 15 year old

We really couldn't hit the target at all, the thing was totally intact not a mark on it, but I'll keep that in mind if we ever do hit anything with it.

We'll try 50 yards next time.

What :?: I should arrest you for PUI (posting under the influence) and spamming. Do you know how many people have guns and how many dont shoot people? I hate when people say "why do you need a gun are you going to shoot someone?" the answer is NO there for sport.

people arent taught to respect guns like they used to be, they're taught to fear guns, this is why the anti-gun liberal douche bags are doing such a good job at banning different things. i like to collect and target shoot is there something wrong with that? i dont think so, but some people do for some hare-brained reason or another

yeah, i definetly agree with spudshot and pimpman. i love guns, and i love to target shoot (unfourtunatly my family isnt into hunting) but i live in massachussets and my parents are anti gun. but just because you have a gun dosent mean u are violent or have any desire to shoot or kill another person.

EDIT: and btw 95% of crimes commited with a gun ar commited using an illeagly obtained firearm, not to mention where gun laws are less "crappy" there are way less violent crimes that in, say newyork city where it is illegel to fire a gun in city limits and things like that.

I've had a couple close calls with guns myself. Some kid last year brought a gun into school, and planned to kill a teacher, and then himself, but someone tipped off the prinicple, and the cops settled it.
Another time, at the airport, this guy got stopped with a .45 in his bag, loaded and everything. Kinda freaky because we were in front of him.

wow drac, that is scary i cant imagine what would have happened if he brought the gun onto ur flight(unless of course it was an accident)but i would be kinda hard to acidentelly have a pistol loaded in ur bag goin onto an airplane

"but it'd be kindof hard to accidentaly have a loaded pistol while going onto an airplane"
hu? Lots of people carry guns for personal defence... it's not unthinkable that they'd forget to take it out.
