Today was one of those days at school when you are really bored. i was looking in my desk and i noticed i had a disposible dixie cup and a roll of duct tape.

i want to make a low pressure valve that will release air when it is blown up. i want to be able to blow up the "tank" with lung pressure, about 3-4 psi.

The materials i have avalible are a plastic disposible cup, duct tape, elmer's glue, and a roll of duct tape + what ever else is in a common school desk.

what i will do with the thing is unknown, i just want to see if i can make one. any ideas?

You're basically trying to make a burst disk right? I think it would be hard to find something that makes a seal but breaks at 3-4 psi.

no, not a burst disk, my lungs can't produce that kind off pressure. i have no idea what kind of valve, just one that hold and release air.

Wait wait wait, you have dixie cups and a roll of duct tape in your desk at school? There's gotta be some story there.

empty the glue bottle and make it into a pump. you can probably make a check valve with a marble or an eraser+spring from a pen.

If you can actually generate 4 psi by blowing, (insert joke here).

um. Is there plastic wrap in the desk? That would burst at lung presure.
trying to decide on a new project, probably something small.

the dixie cups are from a bake sale and I found the duct tape, that satify you?

i like the TP idea, but i still want and actual valve, not a burst disk. i have thought for hours and couldnt think of anything.

make a swing check valve out of the cups and a duct tape disk. then tye a string on the swing part so you can pull the swing back.

ohh, i got one...

ill make a check valve out of a pen body and use a airsoft bb as the piston and the spring from the pen to seal it and an eracer as the seal face. i could pull it open with a string.

this would be 100% absolutly useless/pointless, but would be fun to show my teacher.
