Who are these people?

Where were you?

By the way -- "I'd say america's politics and downright thinking theyre the superior race (no offence its not all of yas)"

If it wasn't for America's goverment, all the charity we give out ALL OVER THE WORLD, wouldn't get there! Imagine for one moment if we said to hell with giving all the help we do. What would happen to all those we feed, give medical care to, and protect? What would happen to those people?
For one we'd be a bit safer about nukes, we'd have a lot less violence and many third world countries would be good if we never got them caught in a cross fire. Our troops wouldnt have been in Iraq and quite a few of my family would still be alive.

We went to France.

Twitch, you avoided my question entirely, and rambled on about something different -- What would happen to those people, if we stopped giving all the charity we give? You do realize all the charity comes from all us hard working Americans, don't you? Don't get me wrong, plenty others help others to, but we get unfairly slammedbecause we step up first to help. I find that very disturbing.

Don't take this the wrong way, but, the States (and, admittedly, others) only ever seems to step in and help when there's oil or money involved.
Example:- Stepping in during the second world war. These services weren't offered for free....we've only just managed recently to pay off the debt we owed for the USA's intervention.
Another example could be Tibet. The Dalhi Lama (probably the most peacable person in the world) has been begging for assistance ever since the Chinese invaded in the 1950's. During this time the Chinese have killed something like 2 million people and displaced about 6 million. Tibet has no real resources and therefore this tragedy has been completely ignored by the west.
I think it a fallacy to say that the USA is the champion of the underdog. They pick thier fights far too carefully and won't get involved in anything that doesn't benefit thier economy.
........ I find that disturbing.

We rebuild what we destroy during war time, and it's better then we found it when we leave. We also strike military targets and leaders, not cilvilion targets like the people we go after. I hope you realize the oil we get from other countries isn't free at all, we pay hard earned dollars for it, so it's not fair to say we don't step in unless theres something in it for us. About the second world war, do you still live and speak freely in your native country? Thanks to us you do! Remember, we put ourselfs in a great depression fighting WWII. How was that getting paid for joining the fight?

Complete bullshit. Go tell that to the Iraqi kids walking knee-deep in raw sewage.
I hope you realize the oil we get from other countries isn't free at all,
Did I say you got it for free?

No, not really. If anything our freedoms have greatly diminished. Free speech is fast becoming a thing of the past here. (I don't blame America for this. It's true, we probably would have lost the war without American interventoin. But, like I said, these services were not provided for free.) We now live in a surveillance society. There is one security camera for every 14 people here. The average person can expect to be filmed/photographed upwards of 200 times per day. One also has to be very careful about what you say publicly (about, for example, Islam) lest you be sued or jailed.

Dear lord slugfoot, the allied forces were in Vienna 10 yrs after it was taken from Nazi hands. The war in Iraq is not even remotely closed to finished. And the stuff being blown up is not all by the US,we didn't blow up the Muslims holy temple in Iraq.Blame that on other Muslims. I genuinely feel sorry for your country being as how you are under survelliance 24/7 but it's not our fault.America like any other nation does what it can.Personally the way we treated Europe after WW2 was how we should be treating Africa right now.Look at Africa and the free money situation. Now tell me whether or not Europe was better off having to build an economy to pay off debts or get free money for nothing and deal with mass corruption. No nation is perfect but the US has a pretty darn good thing going. We do more good than any other country. And if it weren't for the US half of the countries on this planet wouldn't be in existence. Most would be under German and Soviet control, remember WE were the deciding factors in those issues.Show a little respect for the big brother who bails out the siblings in trouble.

Twitch brought this up, sorry we got off subject. What he said concerned me as an American. It does sound like your being watched by your goverment. Do you feel like you have freedom in your life? I do, thanks to all of those who gave thier lives for the freedom i now have. Trust me when i say this, it's not easy to make a living here in America. I have to work hard to make ends meet -- to pay my bills every month, in case you didn't know what i ment. Is it hard to make ends meet in the Netherlands? Do you work or go to school? If you don't mind telling us about yourself a little.

The only Americans we "know"are the moviestars. Most Dutchmen react to Americans as though they were celebrities. That's why we seem so friendly to American tourists, I think.

Most Americans ( to me) seem overly proud of their country. They seem to feel like they are the most important people in the world without knowing what the rest of the world is about.
An interviewer once asked Bruce Willis what he thought of Amsterdam,
He replied: "nice country" It's a city, hello!!!

I once had an argument with an American online, while playing Delta Force..He didn't want to team up with anybody other then Americans."Damb foreigners!!"
I asked him why he felt so superior as an American, he replied:"one word: H-Bomb!"
I answered: "One word: Vietnam"
He got pretty pissed.I just wanted to show him he has no reason to feel superior to somebody he doesn't know.

He was better at the game though...
