I generally agree with Pete Zaria and MrCrowley. The whole K.A.T.S. thing is getting out of hand, although I don't mind an opportunity to spoof off other people's avatars like SpudMonster.

P.S. - I change my avatar quite often. Trends are just plain boring.

I think this forum has more of a problem being the substitute for a social network. Some seem not to respect that other members come to this forum for the topic specific nature of it - potato launchers. If you want to communicate/ interact with people on the web go to places like Theopia, or get a IM account, and find people to talk to.

People that have been recently engaged in all this, please understand that this is one of the few places on the web that you can find potato launcher related material (no where near as active). Quite frankly anyone interested in this does not want to read your childish bullsh*t about cats, dogs, or any other subject you can come up with. Go ahead slap something up in your avatar, and signature as long as it abides by the forum rules. But the content of your actual posts please try, and keep that spud related.

Because when you have no part in these off-topic discussion it gets real annoying having to, and thumb threw it daily. Very rarely do I (or others I might say) find any of it funny, or entertaining.

I've seen very few posts containing cat avatar/signature references outside these two topics (which are both in off-topic anyway):

...and of course this one. So I'd say it's the visibility of the avatars and signatures that bothers certain people.

It'll die down eventually, I'll get round to re-editing my signature and my traditional birdy will return. Others will lose theirs as the light amusement wears off.

Anyone visiting spudfiles is going to think were all dumba$$ cat lovers.

It would sound a bit petty to declare cats too off-topic for the off-topic section though... The last thread was locked and it's only been brought up again by PCGuy starting another himself.

Theopia....A forum for what ever you want. Keep the discussion at theopia. Stop bringing it up here at spudfiles. Why would you? Whats the point? Any other KATS topics will get locked alright, unless they're at theopia. There is no need to discuss your avatar. And no im not going to wait for this 'faze' to blow over, keep the KATS to your avatars and sigs not your posts.
