i have recently acquired a homelite textron chain saw. i was planning on mount a different sprocket on it so i could use it to power this go cart.
i though my friend had an old one we could use but, he didn't
so im looking for other ideas. here some pics, sorry for the blurryness

Just use the origanal chain that came on the chain saw and make sure you make a heavy chain guard.

Incase the chain snaps, I'd rather not have a chainsaw chain whip me in the leg driving my go-kart.huh, what are you talking about.

i don't have the go cart and the chain saw chain wouldn't fit the go cart sproket anywayi though my friend had an old one we could use but, he didn't
so im looking for other ideas.
you would not use the chain on the saw, it is for cutting wood and would never take a sproket, you have to get a chain from a mini bike or something.
that would be excedingly difficult to put on there and make work. i had that go cart as a kid and i didnt fit on it when i was 10.
there is just no way you will get it on that cart, you dont even fit on it unless you are about 4 feet tall. it is designed for a kid and the tubing on it is very thin and wont take the stress from a engine like that.
if i were you i would build a hovercraft or put it on a bike.
if you want it to move you at all you will have to moddify it a little, clean the carborator and maybe even moddify the exhaust and make a larger gas tank.
what ever you do, good luck.
