Will do. I live in a very rich neighborhood, and every year, my two crazy neighbors pitch in like $1000 on fireworks and go down to SC to buy 'em. They bought a bulk pack of 3" mortars for $400 too. Just to give you an idea, standard aerial shots around here or only 1.25". My neighbors were the only ones in our neighborhood to get their hands on these beasts!

well in Indiana fireworks are legal and thats where im staying because i have a beach house up there right off lake michigan. well since they are legal shows are huge everywhere you look motars and huge 3' bottle rockets go off. they make M80 bottle rockets and they are like 3 feet tall and like 1 and a half pounds. they make so much noise. i also buy high end motars. ones that are about 6 inches across. i have lots of extra wicks and i rig up big some-what timed shows. cant wait to see what people get pics of! if your lighting em' off right now get some pics

I have a couple of large prepackaged shows, however they are not quite legal in california, so i will only shoot a couple then retreat to my house before the cops show up.

Last year I rigged up an electrical ignition system for our mortar rack. It has 12 black plastic tubes (HDPE I think?) I used nichrome wire ignitors atached to quickmatch that set off the mortars. I used a 12v lantern battery to power them.

id like to make a electronic ignition for fireworks but i have no clue, im retarded when it comes to that. thats why i buy like 50 yards of wick and rig it up its pretty easy but electronic ignition would be awesome. making and rigging a show that is gana be really good is one of the best parts.

Little strands of nichrome wire with reglar wire soldered to each end. Split a fuse in half and tape the wire inbetween and tape the fuse shut.

Run current through the nichrome wire and it will become red hot and ignite the firework. Some simple 555 timers could be used to produce an entire show if you would like.

I got a 12 cue wireless ignition system and that I am working on and a rack of 40 2" mortars and 30 1" mortars, should be a pretty good show. Unfortunately I don't have much money to buy fireworks, but it should still be a pretty good show. I'll try and get some pics and stuff.

The other day I set off a bunch of little stuff, ending with me just throwing like 3 grosses of bottle rockets in the fire. That is way more fun than lighting them one at a time :) Then I lit off a home made 4lb smoke bomb. It burned for well over a minute and made a huge cloud of smoke. Although it costed like $10 to make since I can only get my KNO3 as stump remover. :( I had some lying around needing to just get used up already though, so it was ok.

That sucks. I can make almost twenty pounds of smoke composistion for that same price. I bought a 10 pound bag of KNO3 for $10 on eBay. My ignition system is simply a large project box with twelve momentary switches and one toggle switch with a safetey cover as a saftey.

I prefer to not buy chemicals on ebay, for fear of getting a knock on my door by the BATF.

If your only making smoke mix and small amounts of BP they cant really do anything. Its when you buy those chemicals and do illegal stuff like make flash powder that will get you in trouble.
