I was wondering if someone rented a ''DVD'' not a video cassette, from a video rental store and he/she burned it AKA made a copy of his/her own, which is ofcourse illegal.so my question is if he/she returned the DVD will the store owner somehow know that you made a copy of yours by looking at the disc. Don't worry guys im not gonna do it i just wanna learn a thing or two.

No.
I really doubt they could tell, and if they did, what could they do?
I doubt they would really care.

And no point lying, we know your going to do it.

There is no way of telling. When you put a dvd into a dvd drive, the laser reads the surface of the dvd and then sends the signal on. The dvd has no idea where the signal goes, it doesn't know the difference between a signal to the screen or a signal to a dvd burner. And don't pirate dvd's, it would cost you about $20 to buy an original copy, I'm sure you could afford that.
