base45's sniper+scope+silencer(new pics)
Jesus, first there were the people who got mad when someone called a gun a "sniper rifle" because the barrel wasn't rifled, and now there are the people that get mad when someone calls a gun "sniper" because a sniper is an operator of a sniper rifle rather than the actual rifle.
Nice sniper; its very clean.

Wow my little comment turned into this
I appologise I guess, though you all need to calm down. Im stating my opinion on what is a sniper and what isnt, does it really matter?

No, but it's just the principal of the thing. by all means, name your gun a "sniper", it just makes you look stupid because you're not using it correctly...

I suppose next you’ll build an assault rifle looking gun and call it a soldier…
If you ask me, “fowler”, “musket”, or “flak gun” would be a more suitable name.
Fowler, or fowl piece, is the old term for shotgun, since your primary target is of the feathery persuasion, calling it a “fowler” would be far more appropriate than a "sniper".
A musket is generally smoothbore, the exception being rifled musket, and can be loaded with solid slugs or shot, much in the same way your gun is loaded with “potatoes, BB's, rocks, batteries, pretty much and thing that will ruin a feathered guest day ”, end quote.
A Flak gun can be loaded with either solid, airburst, or shot rounds, and is generally used against airborne targets, but they have bean used more than once against land based targets.
Indeed, STHORNE, I concur.

You mean like calling yourself "the judge". your not a judge and probably won't ever be one. get over yourself. if you can't offer anything useful or even a nice gun comment, then keep your comments to yourself.
if base45 intends to shoot from a hidden place with this he is a sniper, even more so if the alleged feathery thing is an actual snipe. Then it would not be a 'fowler', it would be a sniper launcher or sniper gun. if he wishes to shorten the name to 'sniper' like so many actual firearm columnist do, it is his decision.
get over it

Oh, cause you know everybody's life story.... Or like calling your self “blue russet boy” when you’re not blue and you’re not a potato…bluerussetboy wrote:You mean like calling yourself "the judge". your not a judge and probably won't ever be one. get over yourself.
“The Judge” is the callsign I use in paintball and a few first person shooters, it has very little to do with actual modern judges, I could explain it if you want, but I feel that it would be to off topic…

No, he’s a “hunter”.if base45 intends to shoot from a hidden place with this he is a sniper
No, it would still be a fowler, as that’s what is used when hunting snipeeven more so if the alleged feathery thing is an actual snipe. Then it would not be a 'fowler', it would be a sniper launcher or sniper gun. if he wishes to shorten the name to 'sniper' like so many actual firearm columnist do, it is his decision.
Why don’t you get over it and accept the fact that you’re wrong.get over it

Ad lets just leave it at that
Sweet gun base45

Do you need some ointment for that BURN?(spoken like a twelve yr old)
never did i say he didn't offer a nice comment. as this is the showcase area and not discussion area it is a broad statement meaning keep your comments to yourself if:if you can't offer anything useful or even a nice gun comment, then keep your comments to yourself.
1)you don't have something useful to say(ie. all DWV on a pnuematic is unsafe)
or
2)a nice comment on the launcher.
your's and judgment's pathetic little argument on what he calls his launcher is are useless comments that should be deleted. base45 did not ask what to call his launcher. if they are worth the time, start your own thread in the discussion area about what warrants what for a name.

Okay discussion of the name ends here. Technically Judge and STHORNE are right, but we all know that base45 isn't going to change the name for technicalities so no point arguing over it.
Fair enough....Me and Judge will stop arguing.
so your work can be complimented like it should.
"Nice gun base45!" happy? lol
Edit by MrC: I just reworded a bit of what you said, some people might have taken it the wrong way and kicked up a fuss.

Heck, I apologize, didn’t mean to stir up a fuss, I was just pointing out a slight error in nomenclature.
Rebuke a wise man and he will thank you, rebuke a foolish man and he will hate you…
The gun it’s self is rather slick, although I have doubts about the strength of the elbow that attaches the handle to the gun.
You did a right fine job on solvent welding, not a purple mark on it.
I still feel that it deserves the classification of “flak gun”, rather than “sniper”, as it more accurately describes the use of the weapon, but it’s your gun call it what you want.
Have you tried it on airborne "feathered" targets, tis’ a bit more sportsmen like to shoot ‘em on the wing?
