Well, I hadn't managed to get it to blow back so I shelved the project - but the power was good enough, certainly if you're firing BBs or similar - so if you wanted to make a bolt action rifle, they would still be a good idea.
You'd have to cut some sort of groove into the cartridge body for something in the bolt to latch on to for extraction. The mechanics of cartridge loading and extraction is well established, you'd just need to find a way to replicate it using what materials you have available.

I had an idea while read this post and it was to just use the shell as the projectile (kinda like an RGP). I made a real quick picture of what i was thinking of

yeah, i thought of something similar, but if you want the round back you gotta go find it, or just find a way to mass produce them, and 10 isn't mass production, if you get trigger happy 100 could get used up in an hour or 2

if you make them robust enough then they should be reusable. make 10 or so then when you have fired then all just recharge them
