I guess that's why I feel the opposite. I feel that when responding to someone, like right now, if I post something halfway through your post, then seperate the next sectino with quotes, and then ADD a response to PCguy in this same post, I feel it is MUCH MUCH more confusing, hence why I've never heard of your rules here, nor did I understand what the hell you guys were referring to when everybody was yelling at me. I guess I'll just try to explain by doing. So here's the first part of my response.paaiyan wrote:Double posting is a pain in the butt, mostly because what's going to happen is this, you post one, and someone tries to respond. While they're typing, you post something that answers a question they were going to ask, but they don't know this because they are typing. Then they look like an idiot after they post a question to something you just answered.
I had an attitude because people were yelling at me and I thought they were full of crap, because I didn't understand their definitions of double posting. MY definition of double posting is different, so when you guys accused me of it, I was getting ticked off because it was OBVIOUS, to me anyways, that I was not double posting. Again, I am greatly sorry that we didn't have the same definitions, because if we did, I would not have been labeled a post whore, and I would still be in hte contest.I still say, you did get one heck of an attitude and pissed a lot of people off. Yes, you seem to understand now, but punitive action cannot be retracted on the basis of someone learning their lesson afterward. Then everyone would just say I learned my lesson before they were punished.
An example to whom?! Other people who build spudguns and get all excited about entering contests only to be disqualified because htey didn't understand fairly uncommon forum rules?! How often does this really happen??? Often enough to deserve an example to deter them!?I'm sorry your cannon didn't make it in, but you did what you did, and punishment was dispensed, examples have to be made sometimes.
Then you're missing the best part. I'm really proud of hte video, I think it's hilarious.EDIT: Didn't realize there was damage in the video, I'm at work and can't watch it right now, I'll check it out later.
Now here is where I think my post will get confusing, but I am doing this to adhere to the accepted forum standards, so bare with me:
I told my teachers, who wondered why I was carrying a gun around in the 3d lab, I told all my friends at school, I told my classmates from high school that I saw this weekend, I told my wife, and I told friends in japan about it. I was really really really excited about it.PCGUY wrote:I am very curious as to why you feel the need to be in the contest SO badly? I mean I have never seen anyone so up in arms about it. Did you tell someone you were going to be in a contest or something and want to show it off?
YEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! Thank you thank you thank you! I will do so! And hopefully avoid double posting now that I know what it means. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU YOU ARE AWESOME!Regardless, to play fair and to ensure you that I am not being a bad guy I will give you a chance. If you can get at least 5 "respected" members from SpudFiles to PM me by the end of tomorrow (Tuesday) and say that you should be in the competition and why then I will let you back in. When I say respected I mean members that are already registered here and have some background, not a member that registered just now.
Thank you! Can you PLEASE email PCGUY and ask if I can be back in the contest?! Please! I am not double posting anymore, now that I know what everybody meant!pyromaniac wrote:I accept your apology cash if PCGUY does ask if anyone thinks you should be in I will say yes.
Pics? It sounds like a cool design. It's a a inline and underover with stock. basically you can unscrew the sprinkler where its close to the stock then screw off the barrel and add it on to the side the stock was on then its an inline.
