Ok. I want to build a simple launcher for paintball. I would like it to be straight, not u-turned. Id like to run it on 12 grams. I would like it to be around 3-4 ft. long. Could someone please post all the material that I would need? Sizes and everything please. A removable pvc barrel too.

I will post a pic after I finish it. And maybe a video.

But abouve all, simplicity is #1. If it gets too complicated to make a launcher run on a 12 gram, a tire pump pressure would would be nice too.

I dont want to be too pushy but I really need this done. I made a launcher bfore, but it was cumbustion. My paintball feild doesnt allow cumbustion launchers. So i am kinda pissed off at that.

Thanks again.

you will probably need something like this.

http://www.anythingxtreme.com/Real-Acti ... C2876.aspx

wether or not you need a regulator depends on your chamber size.

you you want to fire a single paintball or have a shot gun effect?

if you want the shotgun effect then you will need probably a 1.5'' barrel and a 2 or 3'' chamber.

i dont know what kind of valve you want, but recommend a sprinkler valve just so that it is decently powerful.

the 12 gram adapter for $25??? Damn....

alright, I think I know what im going to do, Have my design dow.

ill have a barrel, around 1" by 2', a threaded PVC adaptar going into a metal valve, then have my pressure chamber. At the end, ill have a Schrader valve or a 12 gram(if I can get on cheap). What do you guys think?

Sounds simple enough.

With a barrel that short, you will need a fast valve to get decent performance. I would recommend a diaphragm valve, either store bought or homemade, a QEV, or a burst disk (but then the reload times would suck).

Wait, in that case ill make the barrel a little longer. The size isnt really a big deal. Maybe like a 3 1/2' barrel. 4' max.

BTW, I'm looking to lauch paint grenades or shells.

Use a modded sprinkler valve. Way more common than a QEV and works just as good for what you need it for. Have the chamber about the size of the barrel too if you are going for max performance.

because im tring to keep weight down.

Ok, i think I got it,

I would just put a schevair valve in the back and use a tire pump instead of a 12 gram.

Is that any better?

The only problem with this is that it would take longer for you to recharge the cannon between shots. It looks like it wouldn't take as long as a 1:1 ratio but the chamber pressure would have to be higher to get the desired results.

By the way, what is a schevair valv? :)

I'm sure you know exactly what was meant. It's not nice to rile up the newbies with silly questions like that.

sniperx117, it's Schrader, not Schevair. Don't feel I'm looking down on you for the mistake - it took me a while to learn to spell it right.

You may not want to give up on that whole 12g idea yet because it is very effective for paintball. Check this link out and see what you think:
