QEV Burst-Disc cannon idea

I was looking at Rag's "HEAL" gun and was inspired, and decided to draw up plans for a future gun. I decided that a QEV actuating another QEV would have better opening times than with just using a blowgun.
The burst-disc idea came from some thinkings in college today. The "bullet" case is just a flanged copper tube with foil glued to the flange, or some plastic held in place at one end, and for the other end there may not need to be a 2nd disc, but it would mean the ammo wouldn't roll out if it wasn't a super tight fit.

one flaw in the design... you would get a face full of air  other than that i think it would work. however how much more power does a qev pilot give?

I think a QEV actuating another QEV would be a waste of money and a QEV.

I'm also confused by the double breach is there any other use for the disk besides keeping the ammo in?

EDIT: i dont think useing a QEV for a pilot would give that much mroe power.

double edit: i didnt know there was shells i get it now.

@ALIHISGREAT - I have no idea how much more power I would gte because of the fast opening times but it would be more than with a ball valve/blowgun. Im cool with a face full of air, as the pilot to the main QEV would be very minimal, so a cool breeze from the pilot is cool.

@pyromaniac - I have 6, 12mm QEVs at my disposal, so it's at no extra cost to me. The burst-disc on the shell would provide a bit more added power (I hope) and add to the noise level of the gun.

This.

QEV's are ridiculously sensitive. They can literally pilot if there's a small leak in the threads.

Because of the sensitivity of QEVs, I would like to see the added power to a gun with a QEV as a pilot. I will do tests of course for comparisons when it gets made.

Interesting. It'll certainly work, but exactly how much extra power you'll get will be an unknown, at least until you test it. You could estimate with GGDT, but GGDT wasn't designed for quite that arrangement.

Of course, you could pilot the 2nd QEV with a 3rd as well, but that would be getting stupid. I have considered it before though. I had to fight myself to avoid putting a 1/4" QEV onto HEAL to pilot the 1/2" one.

What drawing package do you use?

A 3rd QEv would just look silly, and it would need to be all awkward because of the chamber.

I use Microsoft™ Paint© for all my drawn images, just that I take a little more time than the average Joe when comming up with concept sketches on Paint.

Paint? God-damn, that must have taken ages.

I actually made a gun which was a coaxial actuated by another piston valve, actuated by a blowgun. It didn't have much power increase, hardly a difference between a sprinkler as the pilot. What I'm getting at is 2 QEVs may be an overkill, but as you said you have 6 lying around, i can't see any reason why you shouldn't use 2 QEVs.

I hope to see it completed with damage pics soon. Looks like a good design.

with the wonders of copy-paste and flip-rotate, less than you think ;)

In all it took me about 15 minutes to draw it all up. Not that long really.

I will be getting a phone call from a mobile phone shop today, and have an interview for a Jewelery shop on tuesday, so if I get either of those jobs, this gun will be made within the next few months.

It could also be blinged out nicely too, if you get the job at the jewelers

I have the interview tommorow, so I hop it all goes well. And yes, if i get the job, expect to see the whole thing looking alot cleaner and shineier than my Gauss Lightning 0.5 is at the moment.
