Bolt Action Release

has anyone ever heard of using a bolt action, like on a rifle, for a release valve? I have thought about this quite a bit over the last 24 hours, and I don't see why it wouldn't work. easy, only 1 moving part. what do you think?

how do you mean, pull the bolt back to open a valve and fire?

yes, just like on a real rifle. the bolt is held in place because it is in a side channel, think of the number "7", thats what the slide channel looks like, and when the chamber is pressurized, the bolt is in the top and to the side of the "7", so it stays in place. then to release, twist it over to the main slide, and pressure does the rest....

Real rifles have triggers to fire
I made something similar to what you're suggesting, using a latch to keep a piston in place then release it for firing, but I made it look like a trigger, not a bolt action - have a look

yes, real rifles have a trigger to fire. the bolt action on a rifle is to load the bullet, contain the firing, the eject the spent casing. my idea would be work on a similar basis, as iit would contain the pressure, tehn release the pressure when opened.

Feck me, that IS good - why oh why don't I have CNC facilities in my garage?
On the other hand, while this is brilliant to be honest I prefer his bolt action designs.

it was a bolt action... wasn't it? also i think we could learn a fair bit from the nerfers, i reckon PC guy should add a nerf section and he should advertise on nerf forums.

Nerf stuff is great. however, nerfers could learn from spudders. such as modifying sprinkler valves and other things...........
and boltsniper does some great stuff. i actually replicated his bolt action shell fed gun, and it actually worked, minus firing darts.
i could cycle the action and eject shells from my magazine faster than you would belive.... however i never got around to finishing it. ill post a video sometime of the thing working. it was pretty cool.............. the whole AR15 ejector system is not hard to fabricate either..........
