Thanks Frank and yeah it is, more kick then I thought it would have.

Haha I wish, in that case maybe I should've named it after the less threatening V1 rocket

Thanks man, GGDT said around 200m I think, that was a few weeks ago and I can't remember.

But GGDT is known to be too generous and sometimes not enough. So it's anyones guess till I shoot it onto a golfcourse from my house 8)

I can't believe everyone is saying it's got a good paintjob, I literally held two cans in my hand at a time and sprayed where ever neccassary to cover up the PVC. :D

It was at 70psi. I can't remember my more powerful SGA golfball gun having as much kick with a potato as this gun, it was pleasantly surprising.

Nah, "doodlebug" doesn't have the same "oomph" to it :)

edit: btw, do you fancy doing some penetration testing with the sprinkler valve piloted by a blowgun on a hose? I think the issue of pilot volume on sprinklers deserves some cold hard data, and this is an ideal setup to try it out.

No, no it doesn't, how about this? :D

I actually listen to a few of their songs. Similar to Rammstein

Sure, I can put the PB barrel on it or the GB one. Give me some control figures (PSI, ammo, target etc) and I will set one up. Or I could use the smaller SGI if you prefer.

BTW I have a square foot section of 20mm plywood which could be a good target, from how far away as well?

Very keen to prove markfh11q otherwise are we? :D

Cool :) it doesn't have to be penetration, you could do distance as well but that would involve lots of looking for projectiles. Target needs to be something in the thick cardboard-aluminium can bottom-1/4" ply sphere of resistence, anything you can later and have a lot of so you can measure penetration in arbitrary units (eg x amount of laters penetrated). Ammunition would have to be something hard and consistent, so golf balls or marbles would be ideal, and as to pressure, anything from 50-100 psi.

I would suggest first carrying out a control shot with the blowgun attached directly to the sprinkler valve, this would be "hose length 0" and would give you the theoretical maximum penetration, ie you'd know the amount of layers you have to put. After that, I'd say at least 2 shots per hose length, each time adding 2 inches.

If you could do this you'll either have me dancing the "I told you so" dance or maybe I'll become a bit less of an efficiency fascist :D

edit: It's not a matter of proving anyone wrong, we all agree that shorter hose = more power. The issue is, how much of a difference does it make - if it's below 5% then I'll be more than happy to shut up and let people have their ergonomic ways :)

Germans...

:D

I can start with a 30cm hose length I think, and then go down from that.

It may take awhile for me to complete, I have a physics exam on Friday and a German exam the following Tuesday, but then i'm done with school until February.

There's no rush, education comes first :)

As you wish, I suggested no hose as a control in order to know what the maximum potential is, as longthening the hose isn't going to increase peformance.

Yeah I mean I will do the control test with no hose, but when I do the hose tests since you want to cut 2" of the hose everytime, I will start at 30cm and go down in 5cm at a time.

Naturally, it wouldn't make sense to add hose length :)
