Woodsball=sniper setup. Speedball=assault setup. So, based on this I can't vote on the poll. For a woodsball sniper I would go with a 98 custom or A5 with a flatline (300 ft. effective range, the largest in the paintball world). For speedball, I would go Ion all the way. Both 98 with flatline barrel and Ion cost about the same.

Don’t know, never heard of 5/8 PVC pipe, see if a paintball will fit.
¾ would be a last resort as it’s got an ID of ~.84, to big for paintballs.
Call me "Judge", it's easier to type.

the apex barrel shoots farther and more accurately than the flatline.

@Takeshi,
why not use a regular paintball barrel? you can get some nice ones pretty cheap

I dont know... i think it would be cheaper to just build one and i can do anything to it, its easeir to saw through pvc than metal.

I'm thinking of colors for my gun, I'm thinking eihter gold and black or black and silver.

Ok, first of all, search. I know the search feature of spudfiles is crap, but still. Second, I made a thread dedicated to my R&D in the "homemade paintball gun" field. Click the link in my signature for the thread.

Thank you Hailfire lots of help, nice gun too. But i think i am going to stick to a semi assult rifle, have a small scope and maybe be speed ball, but i am thinking of making a really good gun and field legal too because i'd bring a homemade anyday over a storebought one unless it were a very good one.

Sorry bout the double post, but i added a picture of how it might end up looking like when the prototype is done.

Tell me if it needs any mods. And please help me with the trigger installation and the hopper installation too.

MODS i've thought of myself:

-add a stock lol

Helium stored in the liquid state would be a far better gas to use than CO2 or propane, as you'd need significantly less pressure (and therefore less gas) to get the round up to 300fps. The most obvious disadvantage is that you'd need an insulated container, an expansion chamber, and some cryogenic valves, but it could be done.

But from prior experience, the chance of you doing that is approximately equal to the chance of me getting a raise at work and some hours that don't suck (which, BTW, is <0), so propane is likely your best option. More easily available than CO2, and a lower storage pressure means less things that can go wrong.

Well i'm not sure if anything would have to be differant with propane, and this is only my first gun i've made. I will make more better and complicated ones when im more aware of how to build these better... lets just say its an amature gun lol.

Ohhh and i put a new pic up looks alot better in my opinion but im still unsure about the color. :D
