Since I am known as the "SpudGun Expert" at my school, my principal asked me if I could make a launcher for shirts and hot dogs for football games...

It doesn't need to be powerfull...just to launch the stuff atleast 50 yards at a good arch so nobody is injured.

The chamber is planned to be 4" and the barrel has to be 3".

I am debating whether to use an over-under design with a sprinkler valve (2" ports) Or whether to make a QEV. Has to be hand-held ( can be below the waste with handles) and weigh a maximum 15 lbs.

My question is what design should I use and what specs/pressures would work best for lightly-launching T-shirts?

I searched everywhere for "T-shirt launchers" and came up with nothing...

Your fellow spudder,

P.S.
I'm getting paid $250 (including a kick-ass paint job...)

I would reccommend a piston valve but a 2in sprinkler would work too, itll just cost you twice the price

And i wouldnt go too overkill on the chamber, you would'nt want people going deaf. I would reccomend a 24in long 4in chamber at most.

I wish I got a task like that at my school :(

I hope that was a typo lol...

and yeah...a piston valve would be good but I would rather stay away from the homemade stuff as far as internals go because if something goes wrong with it...my ass is grass...

and I wouldn't go overkill at all...if anything, underkill (if that were a word)..

Alright then! Over-under it is! Thanks for the help guys...ill make some blueprints and post them later.

lol, like the sig eh? just thought it up after reading one similar to it in an e-mail I got... I loved it so much it deserved a spot in my sig :D

Does the $250 include material cost, or is that for your work? With a regulator, 2" sprinkler valve, and assorted parts, you may not make much profit... but that may not be your goal

$120? What sort of CO2 setup are you planning? Are you getting some parts for free?

Wait so the entire gun is going to cost you $120 when a 2in sprinkler costs $80 minumum and the reg will cost $50. There is $130 right there and you also need the fittings and pipe so Id say your looking at more like $160-$170 minimum
That is unless you got connections on the sprinkler valve too.
