The fact that they have an o ring in it to seal it shows that they are dwv.
So go get new fittings, and make sure they are pressure rated. And get some pvc cemnt and primer while you are there.
And if possible could you take a pic of the fittings you currently have so I and others can see what you are talking about.

Edit:Nevermind about the pics, I missed a few posts

the things all round the edge of the inside of the pipe fittings are the blades warning they will cut your finger if you put it inside the pipe.

@thewarp16 if you can't buy solvent you can build your gun from threaded steel pipes and fittings...
a steel gun is safer than PVC and this allows you to use higher pressures... since you already want to spend more money on the fittings you wrote about you may as well build it all steel

EDIT
Ohh I've seen these fittings before and I used one of them long time ago... the part I used failed at 10bar so this might tell you how safe they are...:?

I get the impression that you can't buy pressure rated parts, solvent and all that stuff needed to build a safe pvc gun - so IMO you should switch to building guns from steel

thewarp16 are you from europe ?

BTW this thread is a perfect example of what I wrote about parroting...

. Truly demountable without damage to pipe or fitting
. Grip and seal connection
. Superseal insert gives secondary seal
. Reduced pipe insertion force
. Lightweight and easy to handle on site

EDIT: i have no idea what is pressurised or not nothing has any of thos details on! and i do not like solvents of any kind.

i thought thes push fit would be a nice clean and reusable just what i need but u say there not up to much

it says they are

it only has 4 threads. most pressure rated pvc has way more threads than that. i wouldn't use it for anything other than unpressurized water. like poland_spud said use steel, it is a lot stronger and is probably cheaper.

how many threads would it be good to have?? and no were i have been sells steel pipe with fittings and threads.

first of all, no one is making a fool of you

secondly, I know that they are pressure rated - but they rating is low
I have these fittings instaled in my house and I used them in the past so I know something about them and I'll tell you that I don't consider them to be safe

these fittings are used for smaller pipes and low pressures, the biggest size I've ever seen was 1"...

small size + low pressure = low power

so IMO if you can't buy pressure rated PVC, fittings and solvent you should build your gun from threaded stell pipes + malleable iron fittings or copper pipes

here are some guns build from metal -> http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/mitchos ... 13839.html

im just going to end this thread now.

things i have learned::

get pressure rated fittings not screw on ones.

stick it together with solvent or epoxy.

hotglue guns are only good for sticking a pistol grip to a pipe not to glue pipes and fittings to gether.

thanks everyone sorry if i didnt make sense some times but i am a N00B at pneumatic and im sorry im just trying to learn
