i have an extra 16oz co2 tank from my old paintball gun...i was wondering if this would be good as a compression chamber? i do not wish to use the co2...just the tank...the tank would be pressurized with compressed air...also how much psi could this handle? i would assume quite a bit

Why would you even guess? Do you think that really helped him in any sort of way? Do you just want a higher post count? More spud bux? Don't take guesses, it doesn't help him, or anyone else who also needs help.

The tanks are rated for 1800psi, so they should be tested for at least 3600 psi. So, it can hold at least 3600 psi.

thank you DYI...now i have been trying to thik of the best way to attach it...do you have ay suggestions? i was thinking a tee...and the co2 tank would be screwed into one end and a sprinkler valve to the other...and on the middle section i was thinking i could somehow secure a shrader valve...do you tihnk this would be good? or do you have a better suggestion?

Either machine an adaptor on a lathe, or weld in a pipe nipple (and be sure to do a damned good job of it).

i have access to a welder but very limited access...is there anyway to do this with welding or using a lathe? i do not plan to take it very high...in the 100's somewhere

Umm... Yes. Binary adhesives come to mind. Why were you even asking about the burst pressure if you're only planning on taking it into the 100s?

Otherwise he'd be aware that even a common fizzy drink bottle can hold 100psi fine as long as you don't have any illusions of it being pressure worthy for years...

...or poke it with anything sharp and pointy while pressurised

curosity really...i know it wouldnt burst anywhere close to the 100's...i assumed it would be very high...which i did state in my original post...i was just wondering really

would you like me to re word it to something like this- from my relatively limited experience the best i could tell you would just be an educated guess and the maximum psi that i would feel comfortable with would be in the range of 2000psi.

i personally think guesses are ok as long as you don't just wright down a bunch of random numbers on separate picecs of paper and put them in a hat, pull a random number out of that hat with out looking and tell every one that this is the exact answer to there question.

your second paragrapgh made me laugh drex...i personally think guesses are ok...as long as they are an educated guess of course...which im sure yours was

Be safe and don;t use more pressure than the intended content, wich is normally kept between 800 and 900 psi..

CO2 bottles are certed to 1800 psi. Their burst diaphragms go at 3000.

I understand your point, but he needed a precise number, not a guess.
