I am going to sell my old cannon to a friend of mine, but before Im selling it, I will be taking out the schrader valve and the pressure gauge. Im going to ask him If he plans on buying his own pressure gauge or if I should just seal up the hole. How should I seal it, with epoxy?

if your friend has no clue about spudguns the safest way would be to leave it in, or put in a pop off valve instead

Well he does know the ropes on pneumatics...But I was just wondering if epoxy will hold if brought up to pressure.

My guess is that it will hold, epoxy is pretty strong shit.

Either put a pipe plug in the hole or tell your friend to do it.

Epoxy is pretty strong stuff, but seriously, small pipe plugs are VERY cheap.

I suggest leaving the gauge in and buying a new one.
Screwing in and out will damage the pvc somewhat and may cause leaks if done too much.
Just let him pay a lil bit more for the cannon and you buy your own gauge.

I've only managed to blast properly applied epoxy out of the hole it set in once, and that happened at the same time as the pipe from the "Copper Pipe Failure" thread got shredded by at least 10kpsi. On the other hand, the sparkplugs for my 20x oxy/propane hybrid are essentially 1/2" pipe nipples filled with epoxy with two wires through the middle. That's over 1.2kpsi, and they hold just fine (although if they aren't done properly, the plug inches out after a few shots).
