pneumatic burst disc?

I was asking if putting a burst disk on a pneumatic ball valve canon would get better performance. because the time you open it the air will be blocked by the burst disk and the burst disk will blow after had opened completly the ball valve.
does it already exist? could it work?
thanks to reply.

This has been discussed before.
If the burst disk has a high enough rating, it should work. It surely wouldn't hurt performance.

Its exactly what I did on the Dubya... Only one problem, Its damn near impossible to open the ball valve all the way before the disk ruptures. It does help however!

It's amazing that a burst disk of some sort could cure many of the ailes of many a slow actuating valve or poorly optimized combustion gun, but is rarely thought of or recommended.
I guess it's because a burst disk is usually viewed as an advanced concept and will require the builder some redesign.

Not quite- I first had the Dubya as a single 2" ball valve... then everyone was like "ARGGGGH BALL VALVE!" so, I was told to put a burst disk on there and I did. Just chop part of the barrel and voila!

^^Not only that, but it's more of a PITA (having to change the disks) than what it's probably worth.

i have tried a 1" burst disk that did not burst on 4x in my small hybrid and put it on a 150psi piston valve and holy shait it works good!
i may make some chrony readings for you

Another idea would be to have the breech end of the barrel slightly tighter in such a manner that the projectile would jam in place, thereby achieving the same effect without the hassle of using a burst disk.

to say it as i mean it - burst disks is the worst valve ever made!

Worst...? or do you mean best, Spudfarm?
